How to determine metal type on a President bracelet link?

Greetings everyone.

I have a 16mm Rolex President link which I’m currently trying to determine whether is white gold or platinum

It appears to be from 1990s’ish generation, for example from a 18239 or 18206.

Weight is 2.1 grams without the screw

Width is 16 mm

Center link width is 7.8 mm

I was hoping that maybe someone here had either a similar white gold or platinum link and could help me out with the weight and measurements of their link to compare

Any other suggestion about how to determine the metal without ruining the link is also much appreciated of course.

Platinum is approx 34% heavier than 18ct Gold.

If anyone has a WG or YG link, they can measure it up. If it's ~2gr then you have white gold.

If they get ~1.6g then you have platinum.

If it's bright white it's platinum. If it's off white it's WG. I assume you have nothing to compare to weight-wise, but if platinum also will be noticeably heavy.

Like what people earlier said, if its around 2gram its white gold.

If you are keen on the weight, you can look at my earlier thread.

Single 16mm WG link (without screw) shows 2 grams on my kitchen scale, which doesn’t give tenths of a gram.
It seems most likely yours is WG - If it were platinum at 2.1g, then a WG link should be 1.4g, which I *presume* my scale would round down to 1g (?).

Do you know the year it came from? One other complicating weight factor might be that they put ceramic sleeves only in the platinum DD bracelets at first, which would presumably affect the weight.
