Congrats brother! I sold my blue DJ41 for my Santos LG and have had absolutely ZERO regrets. Super comfy and once I got the rubber strap I wear it more.

Ordered a medium last week. Was told there is a delay spoke to Cartier and apparently they are “having an issue with availability of the timepiece” not thrilled but I feel confident they will get it to me as soon as possible

For what it’s worth same things happened to me: AD didn’t have the medium and said they would order it. Watch arrived in a week.

Tried these on today, not sure which I should go with? I love the black and the rubber strap is so comfortable, but the steel includes bracelet and a leather strap so it’s more versatile….

Hmmm what to do… sorry for the bad pics

Get the steel and then buy a leather strap so you can have all 3. I thought I would love the ADLC but it felt too much like an Apple Watch on my wrist. The steel stood out way more as a unique piece.

Picked up a Santos medium about a month ago and then bought the grey alligator leather strap on Monday. Loving it.

I didn't purchase it, but I tried on the new PVD blue and steel Santos. I'm not sure about the PVD bezel, but I do like the color of the new blue rubber strap. I might see if I can purchase it separately, like I did with the black rubber strap for my blue dial steel Santos.

Can anyone who bought an authentic Santos confirm that their hangtag has a date that looks like this? Mine says "Nov 22" and I thought it odd that it would have month and day, not month and year. My warranty card is dated 12-30-20, and I want to make sure that the hangtag is earlier than that date. I bought mine on eBay and am checking for authenticity. So...

1) Can you confirm that your authentic watch has month and day (but no year)
2) Is there any way to tell when the watch was sold by the AD?

1. Yes that’s how mine was I’m nearly positive. I removed the sticker.

2. The date on the card is the date the watch was sold and the warranty should have been activated at or just around that time…

Since the hang tag and warranty card have same serial number as the watch engraving, is it fair to say I got an authentic piece? The warranty card QR code scans without issue. I want to believe this watch is real, as it came from a reliable seller, was checked by Ebay, and came with five additional, seemingly unworn Delugs straps. Can't think of any reason someone would spend $1k on extra straps unless the watch was real.

But if someone really wanted to sell a fake watch here, what should I be looking for beyond the warranty and hang tag matching the engraving?

If you have this much Anxiety you should never buy from anywhere besides an AD.

You have all the evidence screaming the watch is real.

Honestly, when I first looked at the hangtags, it didn't make sense that it didn't have the same day as the warranty. Or that it used the day instead of the year after the month. But that all checks out. But can never be too careful, right? Even reputable sellers make mistakes. And do you think every gray market dealer opens the case to check? Many are dealing with hundreds of watches at a time. They may loupe them, but it's easy to put in an after market dial and mixed guts.

Thank you for this thread.

I recently stumbled across the new Santos De Cartier model and especially the full ADLC version and the partial one.

And your insight and photos have been of great help.

Seriously thinking of getting the WSSA0037

Santos dumont is more similar in design to the original santos. It comes on a leather strap exclusively. Most of the models have quartz movements. The dial typically features elongated Roman numerals. There are some really nice limited edition dumont’s with better movements and precious metals, but they’re pricey.

The santos de Cartier is the more modern take on the original santos. It comes on a metal bracelet and has a strap system to add a leather strap, so it’s the best of both worlds. The case is a bit thicker and more sporty, whereas the dumont is a little dressier.

The santos de Cartier has an automatic movement I should clarify. Looks wise, either is a great watch. The santos de Cartier is very versatile. I personally found the idea that the bezel is a scratch magnet to be overrated. It picks up hairlines but so do most watches that are worn. I ultimately got rid of mine because I couldn’t stand the accuracy (or lack thereof). But I miss the watch because of how awesome it looked every time I wore it.

Did you ever send it back to Cartier to be serviced or regulated. A guy I know bought a new one maybe 6 months to a year ago. He wasn't happy with the accuracy, and brought it to Cartier to have it regulated. They gave the movement a complete overhaul (which was free since it the warranty is still in effect). Now it is running within chronometer specs, even though it is not a certified chronometer, and he is very happy with it. Just a thought if you ever pick up another one.

Just bought a santos today but noticed when I got home they there is a gap (about 1mm) where the two sides of the bracelet meets in the clasp. I looked at some photos online and I see that same watches have them and some don’t. Is this a QC problem? I got a two tone medium. Otherwise, fantastic watch!
