I would be surprised if they knocked off 1000-1500$.....they might not budge at all....they could possibly have it for another week or two and then ask 31k.....I’ve seen that happen 1000 times or more

I wouldn't buy it without the original bracelet.

I actually like the daytona on a strap, esp one that matches well. But I'm just thinking, where did they get the end links from?

It is a 116518, strap model... it has no bracelet option!

It's a gorgeous dial - 116518 - normally came with a croc strap, probably would have been blue. I've never seen that red stitching on a factory Rolex strap though. $30K feels high for watch only - but everything feels high at this point

Considering the age the strap probably worn out pretty badly. The dealer may have even sourced a matching (non rolex) strap when he cleaned it up.

Wouldn't bother me. Rolex would probably supply a new one, blue or brown.

Dayton is a lovely place to visit. Make sure you check out the Wright brothers museum.

As to the original question, buy the seller; if you know them and trust them your likely fine if you like your Daytona with a strap!!!

Quote; there is that, their old bicycle shop!!! I had a friend who ran a Porno theater there back in the late '70s; he went crazy so maybe that tainted my opinion.

It seems all Daytonas are going up in price, but I'm gonna sit on this one for the while
