It's a very well-known issue & so many others have fallen prey. It's mathematically cheaper if u go grey & much less hassle. |

I think the AD has already answered your question by giving you vague/canned responses. If you buy the jewelry there’s a good chance you’ll be flushing that $4k down the toilet. I would go gray or keep trying other ADs.
FWIW I recently got a Pepsi from an AD with just a one month wait after spending less than 10k in jewelry. I did not “bundle” but simply bought the jewelry then asked for the watch as I was buying the jewelry regardless. |

From my experience and 30 years buying Rolex, At present there has never been a worse time to buy a Rolex fact! . I am not naive and realise prices at ADs will continue to rise with periodic price increases but buying 10k off jewellery that you can buy elsewhere as you stated £4K less with no end date to obtain the Pepsi , I wouldn’t unless you have money to burn

you would be lucky to get a Pepsi or Daytona for $10k in jewelry. Most of the time it's $50k for Pepsi and $100k for Daytona

There's nothing stopping you from negotiating on the jewelry. Don't think because you're not paying full price and trying to get a better price it will affect you getting a Pepsi. I do it all the time at my AD and they still gave me a Pepsi

You’re playing in waters where people can spend multiple times this amount per year and still not get a Daytona. Instead of paying 10k for the 6k worth of jewellery, put that 4k on top of MRSP and you’re on your way to a grey Pepsi. Sorry it’s not what you want to hear but 10k just isn’t interesting enough for them to prioritise you over a big spender/preferred client......and they’ll have plenty of those to keep happy |

You appear to have answered your question. What are you certain will you actually get if you pay £4k more? Nothing appears to be the answer. You don't even need maths to work that one out.
I know that we all see things from a unique angle and we all draw the line if different places, but how about the following proposition: If you are willing to, and can easily afford to drop £4k on a hunch, and that hunch pans out, you've paid £4k over MSRP for the watch. But as things stand, this is a fantasy scenario. Why not drop £8k over MSRP on a dead cert and get your Pepsi tomorrow? |

Yep fairly clear at this point. I have one more call scheduled for tomorrow with one of the AD's and that will be the last effort.

I wouldn't play AD games at all. If you want a watch that bad go grey. If the premium price is not worth it, then let it go, enough alternatives in life |

Regarding your first win, have others had success buying a Tudor and then getting a Submariner? I actually want both watches and would happily go for that arrangement.

I was told by many people it was quite lucky actually, and I didn't expect it as I wanted to purchase the Tudor either way. No harm in trying though!

It depends on your gut feeling I guess. I wouldn't play that kind of AD game myself, I'd save the 4k if I had any doubt with lukewarm answers like your getting. I wouldn't consider myself a veteran as I haven't been in the game more than 5 yrs but I have bought 8 or 9 Rolex from 2 different ADs and have visited many until I found my one and only. The way things are going right now my AD can't even order me a black Milgauss.

Most ADs get Pepsi every month, I think you should buy jewelry from them only when you can get Pepsi at the same time.

Playing the AD game again
I do not believe in playing what you call “AD games”.
My advice is to find a nice Rolex Boutique, where they don’t sell jewelry, Breitling or TAG Heuer watches. Tell them why you want the BLRO or whatever and be nice. You never know. I did exactly this and over the past 2-1/2 years have acquired all of these pieces without buying anything else. And, I’m in a major metro area. Maybe I’m just lucky, but like most, I’ve been waiting on a SS Daytona since 2016. Eventually I’ll get it, but in the meantime, I have enough watches to tell the time. In Beverly Hills, as a walk-in, I was also offered this one, which I passed on due to being so expensive, although I love it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I think essentially forcing actual enthusiasts that want to buy a rolex to make other jewelry purchases to obtain the watch they want, is making some just to go buy it grey market and have it now. Not buy $10k in jewlery and hope they come through for you.

personally you're throwing $4k away
Total $10k is not going to go far, esp for BLRO or Daytona. If you're going to keep spending then sure this adds to spending history pot but if not then i'd save your money. i'd think minimum $50k spend for BLRO and $100k spend for Daytona especially in a wealthy city like London Never say never and it could always happened and never hurts to ask |

Bachendorf's, however, is about to open a new standalone Rolex Boutique in Highland Park Village, so it should be interesting to see what comes of it. |

Amazing, willing to spend 10k in jewelry when you can get the same for 4k less. Just to get a watch.
Take a step back and read that sentence again. |
