Whoa....What a size Difference
Does anyone alternate between two Rolex models one of which being the Explorer II?
What I'm getting at is say you have a LV Sub or GMT II and wear it one day then the next day you switch to an Explorer II....does the Explorer II look small on your wrist? Is that illusion present or do both watches look somewhat similar in size? |

i had an explorer ii prior to my first gmtii.
i sold the explorer ii right after i picked up the gmtii and never looked back, must be the bezel that creates the feel of a larger piece. |

I've never thought mine looks small on the wrist after the GMT, although others may have the opposite view, imo it has its own elegant beauty & looks absolutely great

I alternate between the two and find that they are really both very different watches, each with their own qualities. The GMTII-C is certainly larger but the Exp II has a great deal of style and tradition and is a real "tool" watch. At the moment I am working away from home and have only my Exp II with me but I certainly do not miss my GMT. That said when i get home it will be the GMT's turn for a few weeks.

The EXP II, being all SS, blends more with it's pars and pieces..
With the big bezel watches and serrated edges, you get the illusion that they are bigger.. My EXP sees a lot of wrist time.... ...........I consider it the most rugged of the Rolex line.........

I had the same conclusion. I was going to the AD one day to try on a White Expy II. If I liked it (thought I would as I love the pictures), I'd buy it there on the spot.
Tried it on....it looked small compared to my sub. Too small. I should have left then b/c then my AD came out the back the IIc (elusive at that time) and I bought it right then and there. Fully MSRP.... Wish I would have waited a few more months...

My final choices were the LV and white EXP II. I went with the LV but the sized difference is a non-factor. 1 mm in thickness?
