Opinions required: buying watch dial

I guess I am becoming a dial hoarder

Recently I managed to source the diamond baguette dial for my platona.

My local RSC do not mandate dial swap or keeping old dial in case of buying new one.

Recently I acquired the white gold Pepsi with metiorite dial. I absolutely love that dial.

Now I am contemplating buying the blue dial not to swap the metiorite dial but just to keep it for future residual value just in case that dial gets discontinued.

Of course I will keep both dials, what do you think about this idea?

To be honest I am taking this step purely for investment reasons.

All Opinions are welcome

I have WG Pepsi meteorite also and love it so much. The blue dial also looks gorgeous but not as unique as meteorite dial. If you can swap the dial by yourself, it might be good to have an extra dial but for me I can't do it myself so I wouldn't buy it.

If you’re not going to swap it out, I don’t see the point. I mean….for a purely investment purpose, I’d think of a lot better places to put money, to try and make money, other than a blue Rolex gmt dial. Not to mention….ROI on this amount of money, isn’t going to be significant…short, or long term. IMO

Good points, however if you see some vintage daydate dials, the dial only became very expensive. This dial will cost me around 1k USD from the RSC, not huge amount and I will end up having 2 unique dials. I don't know how long this blue dial will last in production, but I reckon not long, and I don't see it becoming very valuable either but I think I will not lose money.

By the way, RSC told me I can bring the watch to swap the dials anytime I want. So I don't have to do it myself.

I would prefer to put my money into watches and not dials. Or better yet, both.

Hmm where are you able to source Rolex watch dials? Interesting concept. I’d add it to the collection if it makes you feel good about it. If you have the funds, then why not.
