Amazing pair. The black really pops. It’s like the ultra Submariner, it’s just a traditional black Sub but in a precious metal. In full yellow gold the black dial wins.

I like black for full YG and blue for two tone

Both would make a nice pair, but one of my favorite watches to wear is the yellow gold Submariner. I went with black dial/bezel. Suits me better.

Honestly, you can never go wrong with any precious metal Rolex.

Previously I would have said yg/black, but since having the 126610LN
I feel like the pop of blue would now be my choice.

My AD received one 126618LB so far this year. So I’m on the list for that, and even asked for a call if someone comes in with a 11 series for trade.

Fingers crossed!

Both awesome pieces, but in the end i think the black trumps the blue, being that i think its easier to colour match with.

I also see the blue being more a daytime piece and the black more night time... maybe

I like blue because I don't like gold.

Black, the versatility can't be overlooked.

Black really goes well with yellow gold. Blue goes well with rose gold (check the VC Overseas in rose gold with blue dial).

Blue & Gold has been the colour combo for many centuries.

Just look at ancient Egypt and and the Pharaoh's - its the colour combo of Kings & Royalty.

My theory is that you are already going all-out flashy with the YG Submariner, why try to show restraint at the last minute and go with the plain black dial? Add that sparkly radial sunburst dial to the package and you have the ultimate attention grabber.

I agree with this. The yellow gold Sub with blue dial and bezel was the most eye-catching watch I’d ever seen and is the one that really got me into Rolex. I remember looking at it for the first time and thinking “wow! That looks amazing!” Both are great, but I’d have to grab the blue between the two.

YG sub - do you like black or blue? Why?

Snapped a blue pic on a cloudy day and it looks matte.

^ It looks matte in that picture but thats more to do with the crystal actually. Even though the new models are meant to have single AR coating under the crystal its still far from perfect.

If Rolex used proper double AR like IWC or some other brands the dial would pop in all angles.

Blue fabulous in sunshine…

I only wished they had kept to using ‘Gold’ lettering on dial of 126618 ….for me the white doesn’t suit it as well.. but hey what a piece…

I went Blue (TT). Egyptian King Tutankhamun agrees.
