Advice please on Day/date in foreign language

Greetings Rolex Forum members; I'm interested in knowing my options for finding a Rolex day/date (aka President) in white gold, with the day wheel in either Spanish or Catalan....would rather buy used...some have told me to go to Barcelona to buy one...others told me I could acquire any version and get the day wheel changed during a routine service....but when I called a local Rolex dealer I was told that was NOT possible.

If I do manage to find one in Catalan (or Spanish), would that make resale in the US more difficult some day ?

Many thanks, Fred (Boston)

One AD in my place had no problem changing this, even had various languages in stock but in the end I decided not to and kept it original.

Obviously it will limit resale in the US a bit. Majority speaks English.

Why would Rolex have a problem changing the wheel to another language?

After all, different language wheels ARE original to this model watch! Nothing special there.

I think that I would find a different dealer.

One thing that is odd though, Rolex has some 26 different language discs, but we hardly ever see them here.

Are you trying to buy a new watch?! An AD can order for you the watch you want.

That sounds ridiculous that you local AD would say that. I cant seeing It hurting the resale value but you'd be losing 95% (guess) of potential buyers unless its switched back.

At least in the United States you can only get English new from AD. Tried 3 different AD’s to order from Rolex a German day platinum DD40 and all 3 said Rolex refused. Only English in USA.

Surprising to be able to order a new one "with a large choice of languages" according to the Rolex site ... and to have it only in English for repair.
The AD should not want to order other languages and prefer to install those available quickly ...
