Turn a Sub LV to a steel smurf?

A friend of mine has a Submariner LV, he wants to replace the dial and bezel insert with the new smurf sub's. Since the insert is ceramic, I'm pretty certain it isn't possible and he would need a gmt iic style braclet. Can it be done?

Tell him to sell the LV and just buy the one he really wants. Why would anyone want a frankenwatch.

You are correct.......It cannot be done (well, except the bracelet..they will interchange)

The bezel has been completely re-designed and re-engineered....they do not interchange..

He just needs a can of the right color Krylon.......

Good info Larry, I didn't know the GMT IIc bracelet would fit a Sub.
I thought the maxi case endlinks were different.

We used to have a guy here (I think he was banned so I won't mentiion him) who regularly wore his Sub SS bracelet on his TT GMT IIc because he thought it gave a better look.. and he compared, with pictures, the look of the two bracelets on the different watches..

(Maybe that's what we banned him for.... A SS band on a TT watch.........the nerve...)

How about a Milgauss PCL bracelet on a Sub.

Would it fit?

Would someone be banned for that? - not that I would do that - but would they?

Seems like a plot to create hybrid Rolex watches.

I like my watches to be vanilla.
