my first rolex back in 1989

In 1989 I was working for Domino's pizza and they had a sales incentive of a Rolex watch with thier logo on the face. This is a picture of one but not mine as I changed it to blue face and later sold it.

What makes no sense to me is that Domino's is the Walmart of the pizza industry. To co-brand with a rolex is like putting an 8-track in a Bently.

at the time they were the leader in pizza delivery in the world. Back in the 80's the first time a store did $20,000 in one week in sales you got a Rolex then 25, 30 and so on. If you went to a company function wearing this you were royalty.
I am now a Papa Johns franchisee in south Florida "Better ingredients Better pizza"

Nice to know the rest of the story - as I've seen these for sale in the past.

Nice ! I used to love Papa Johns pizza here in CT when I was in middle/high school. Now, sadly, they closed most of the Papa Johns where I live :(

So you upgraded the pizza. Was there a watch upgrade?

My Papa Johns is on speed dial for me. Love their pizza. Thanks for sharing the story on the watch. It's too bad you got rid of yours, it is an honor to have gotten one.

I'm glad to hear you have moved up the pizza food chain because as far as I'm concerned Domino's pizza delivery boxes tastes better than their pizza!!! LOL!!!

So are you saying when the shop hit $20K the franchisee (owner of the store) got a Rolex Air King, or the employees each got one from Dominos HQ?

The store manager got the watch I was a Dominos manager for about 6 years and was in on 2 managers in our franchise getting their Air Kings. Just missed getting one myself.
