look on the flea-bay.
you can actually still find good deals and there are a few honest sellers.
plenty of brand new datejusts with all the paperwork, box etc...

just BE CAREFUL.

Dealer's don't have that big a margin to play with, they don't get the watches for free. Authorised Dealers can get in serious trouble if they discount too heavily, including having their agency taken off them. 20% is an excellent deal, if you have your heart set on it, take it.

I'm as frugal as the next guy, but 20% is a good deal. The difference in 20 and 25% is at most $500 for a datejust. Isn't it worth that as insurance in a good relationship with your local ad?

A non-ad reliable source would be tempoking. He could find you whatever you want, and could probably get you 25%. Pm him.

Here's a sweet deal. It might still be under the 2-year Rolex service warranty.
http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=78652 msrp $7150

Exactly which model and style do you seek?

Two-tone, steel, jubilee, fluted/domed, dial, numerals, etc . . .

So far, you have chosen the 26mm model Datejust, but there is still a bit to narrow down.

I would rather get 20% off from an AD than stretch for 25%+ from an unknown source.

go for 20% out of state, you'll save another 5-7% on sales tax.

Great advice Jen. I think I may do this on my next purchase. A whopping 9.25% for us in Los Angeles.

Times like this when I appreciate living in a state without sales tax. Or income tax.
(But the legislature is still in session...)
