"factory sealed watch" is this possible?

I am interested in purchasing a new Rolex (exp ll) from a top known after market dealer. Would it be unusual to ask for a factory sealed watch? Do they honor such a request? Any of your experiences with this matter appreciated! btw im thinking AF or SL for dealers. Thanks

the box isn't sealed to start with..they'll look at you like an alien..lol

buy the seller, not the watch!

when buying from a good, reputable, honest seller, there's noting to worry about!

Rolex's don't come in boxes - they come from the factory in plastic containers with a styrofoam insert. The boxes on the other hand, do come sealed from the factory...

Good luck - just try to find one with the protective stickers on it and you'll be fine!

Not sure why an after market dealer (do you mean used? ) would still have factory sealed watches.

But if you buy it from an AD on order (not in stock...), you can definitely get it shipped to you unopened. I have.

I am certain RolexUSA does not deliver watches to their ADs in those plastic containers.

I demand from my AD that no one but me touch the watch I am buying. I call its condition to be "fresh".

I have special ordered 7 watches from my AD in the past 6 years and have witnessed opening the shipping container that RolexUSA sent to the AD. In every case, the watch is packed and delivered inside the Rolex box with a white cardboard outer sleeve.

Maybe in other distribution areas, Rolex ships in the plastic cases.
However, in the USA, they are shipped inside the Rolex box.....both for special orders and stock orders.

I doubt any GM watch would be considered "fresh".

I'm not sure if you can order it factory sealed. I got my YM so a few years back, before
they start with the new plastic boxes.

It looks like this.

In Japan they come in the big white boxes. From this year they changed the design of the boxes and they now have a slide out inner section, much like a drawer.

The watch itself is wrapped in plastic but only a very thin film, even thinner than kitchen wrap.

The watch is then placed on the pillow with the bracelet going all the way around, and the clasp closed.

Rolex also sends out the watch with a polishing cloth, all the booklets, green wallet and so on.

A true class job.

never seen one in plastic here.

Don't be so "certain." There's an AD here in the SF Bay Area that has lots of inventory in exactly those plastic containers. I witnessed them open one to get out a Milgauss.

My watch was opened 'fresh' for me in its plastic container. I was given the box separately, and it was factory wrapped and sealed with a label on the outside denoting the model it belonged with. Either distributors have different practices, or your AD may have a middleman involved.

Seriously though, if you ever grow tired of the Milgauss i'll take it off you. I'll even pay freight costs if that helps!!!!

In Canada, Rolex watches arrive at the AD in styrofoam. The watch is eventually matched to the box (it has the white sticker with the SN) and packaged for the customer.
