Congrats its a great piece. I think the $1k loss is minimal to get the piece you like. I see stories of others spending $10k on unwanted jewelry just to try and get an allocation. I am surprised that the AD didn't really care that the second watch was gonna be instantly sold the next day to a grey dealer. Just goes to show that the ADs dont care about watches falling into the hands of greys as long as the profits are rolling in.

The latest RG Yacht-Master is 126655.

Yes, but this thread was started in 2019 before the 12 series designation. Back then it was still the 11 series.

I know, at first I didn't realize this thread was 2 years old either! Someone necroposted this yesterday and now it's arisen from the dead.

My issue with this is that not everyone can afford to by a PM Rolex on Oysterflex as well as a Daytona or GMT, if I wanted a GMT there is no way I could afford a PM on Oysterflex as well, it will be MSRP for the GMT or nothing.

Although I disagree with the methodology that the OP went through along with the fact that they are $1000 out of pocket, everyone seems happy so I suppose that’s good, especially the OP who is very happy with the Daytona, congratulations OP.

Ask your credit card provider to bump your limit to 50K.

Edit: more like 60K for OP's deal. Yikes.

I don't think you understand the meaning of "ulterior motive"

but you ended up getting the watch you wanted so it's all good

(oops, who da hell bumped this old thread?)

Now you paid 1k extra on a Daytona, when the other way around you could have had a PM Yachtmaster for essentially free… :) honestly though, congratulations my friend, a good deal you made there

I’m not sure at all how this thread was revived from the dead! I cannot tell you how many times I’ve told people just how terrible certain Rolex forums are just because of this thread. Reading back through the responses and interactions literally makes me cringe for some members

Oh well, update on my watch collection though *️
