Who can claim the title of owning the oldest year Rolex?
Came across this picture yesterday, can’t remember where.
I would wear this watch today it’s lovely, shows how timeless Rolex really is. Crazy to think that is nearly a 100 year old watch. My oldest is probably a 1980s day date so I won’t bother entering :) Let’s see em who’s got the title! |

I have no claim as to oldest but wanted to share the hi-Res image of that 1931 watch.
And provide the oldest Rolex Oyster Cushion Case from 1926. So I guess I have the older picture… Anyone wanting to peruse the Rolex history book, here is a link: https://newsroom.rolex.com/about-rolex/history-of-rolex Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

How about claiming the title of oldest owner, not oldest watch.

Not the oldest, but thought some might be interested. My father was a young Company Commander in Korea in 1953. When his tour was over his men bought this watch for him in the PX for $60 as a going home gift. I assume it is a 1953.

That 1931 OP is amazing!! I wouldn't hesitate wearing it today either. Probably a nice 35mm case...?

My brother's 1956 OP. He wears it several days a week and the timekeeping is amazing. Was showing +0s/d when it arrived and I put it on the machine.
In the "shoulda woulda coulda" folder I almost bought a 1915 Rolex trench watch with a Rebberg calibre earlier this year. Had I known I could win this thread I surely would have :) Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk |

The 1926 and 1931 look so contemporary. It's funny how the world changes but exquisite design is timeless.

And here I was all proud of myself to have an early 90s day date.

He's been collecting since he was a kid (he's almost 80 now). likely most of these were purchased in the 70s and 80s, in the middle east. But it's possible he picked them up in asia or even the olden days watch shows in miami.

I have no claim to the prize, but good thread OP, very enjoyable. I really like that 1926 model, love to have that one.
