The rolex pepsi oyster was the only watch i ever said to myself "i must have that". It was the grail watch. Strangely after i got it, satisfied as i was, it no longer feels as special as before.
It's true what they say, people want what they cannot get.

Yes, my 116520 is what I always wanted. My daily.

Saw one in 2000 at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and that was it.

No other model really interested me, all I want now is a current 116503 TT and a black index 116500

Yes. Submariner. It’s always been my favorite. I like it better than watches that cost much more.

I’ve always admired DJ blue dial / sticks, BLRO GMT and Rolex divers.
Now I own a Rolex diver.

My first Rolex was a Submariner purchased in 2017. When I researched the brand more I discovered GMTs. Being a 24-year Air Force pilot and now commercial airline pilot it was "the" watch I wanted most. I am fortunate enough to now own 3 Rolex GMTs: BLRO (my favorite), BLNR and CHNR. My journey is complete, everything else is just icing on the cake.

For years, I always said to anybody that would listen, "I want a Submariner no date". I finally bought one & found it just wore too small on my wrist. Stepped up to a Deep Sea & fell in love with it. Wear it each & everyday. Sold the Sub to a fellow TRF' er.

I’m lucky enough to own several Rolex & they are the ones I wanted ,so I bought them when the opportunity arose . But this was a few years ago , when you could walk into a AD & take your pick of any of the current models that were available .

The good ole times when ADs actually had watches to let people try on and start a genuine sales-consumer relationship and not the bundle / top up deals relationships we hear about now.

They certainly were , but didn’t even realise it . I occasionally used to call into several ADs that were local to me and have a chat or a coffee , while trying different models on . I don’t bother any more , it’s a waste of time looking for non existent Rolex models . Not that I’m looking to buy one anyway .

I've always wanted a Daytona when I laid my eyes on a White Gold Arab Dial Daytona. Couldn't afford a PM, and I wasn't a fan of the SS Daytona's of the time because of the non ceramic bezel. Come 2016 Ceramic Bezel is released, instantly knew I wanted it. But I can't get it because no one will allocate it to me

The Submariner was always on my radar, since I like dive watches, but when I finally had the money to buy a Rolex, I went to the AD and started looking around and when I spotted this one and tried it on, it was love at first sight.

I'd never fallen in love with a watch in all my life, so it was a new experience. Even today, some 13+ years and a bunch of watches later, it's still my favorite.

I actually have no favorite Rolex at the moment, I'm fed up of the hype and of the lack of availability.

Definitely not what it used to be for me as I have worn Rolex watches for the most part of the last 35 years.

Not really.

I had a fairly limited understanding of Rolex until I joined TRF a few years ago. My first was a Date-Just, but I didn't even know what a DJ was, until I saw it for the first time.

As a kid i distinctly remember 2 rolex watches. The pepsi and the day date in yellow gold. I have the pepsi. And it is my favorite. The day date is not on my radar yet.

No, my current fave is my LVc green dial but the Rolex that really got my attention at first was the platinum YM, a few years ago I bought a beautiful blue YM but sold it as part of a Patek trade up but looking at old pics I wouldn't mind strapping that one on again.

The first Rolex on my radar screen was the Sub no date. I thought it was cool but didn't dive and therefore I thought it was a little ridiculous. It was the eighties, the heydey of yuppies in 320i's. Fast forward decades later, I still don't dive but I own one. It's not my favorite though. My favorite is always my newest watch, in this case the Exp 36mm. This one might be my favorite for a very long time.

Don’t think I can ever purchased the one I really love. I fall for Rolex brand all because of DD 41 Glacier Blue Platinum. Blue Roman numerals with concentric outer rim on dial.

No not really…. Lusted after the 126710 BLRO and finally got it. Its a great watch that was improved in many ways. But the classic 16710 I have is still THE Rolex GMT.

If I bought the Rolex that was always the number 1, it would be a YG DD with white or champaign dial. I don't have that kind of coin for a watch, and probably will never buy it, so the Submariner is the one I bought. No regrets, I love my Sub.

I always liked watches and Rolex. When I visited the AD I went there because I wanted a Datejust. But they had a Bluesy in the store and I liked it. Never really had a favourite before visiting the AD. After that I kind of had a favourite which is the meteorite GMT. I therefore put a deposit for it and am waiting for the call/email.

I wanted a Rolex and a year into my first job, I got a two-tone Datejust with Jubilee bracelet. Got the dial swapped for the Tapestry dial I really liked, and wore it every day for 30 years. Never wanted a different one, and used to think that if it got stolen or lost, I'd replace it with the same thing. Then in 2016, I decided to get a second watch at my wife's suggestion. I fell for the white ceramic Daytona, but got tired of waiting and bought a used platinum one. It's been my favorite watch for 5 years. So I guess: 1) I've always worn my favorite Rolex watch, and 2) I'm happy with what I have rather than chasing the next thing. Lucky me!

I've always been an Explorer guy; Explorer and Explorer II. I've tried lots of different Rolex models but always come back to the Explorer and Explorer II.

Interestingly, the watch that got me into Rolex was the polar Explorer II and I've never owned it! In the last year I was lucky enough to get the new 36mm Explorer in both steel and two tone. They are absolute keepers! I'm number one on the list for the polar Explorer II.

I think once I get it, I'll be quite content. Actually, I like the new Explorer(s) so much that I'm not in a huge hurry for the Explorer II.

Was always the GMT ideally on jubilee and blue and red

I bought this in 2014.

Turned out to be a transitional watch with a 6 digit movement (calibre 3186) which they used in some 2008 watches as the 16710 came to the end of the line, it also has a weird service dial despite never being swapped. Either way that doesn’t matter to the enjoyment I still get from wearing it.

Yep. Explorer has ALWAYS been the one I wanted the most. So glad I got one with the 39mm case.
