I'm not saying everyone will, but there are clearly more than a few people IMO who have bought because it says 'Rolex' on it, and it's a "hot" model at the moment. You only have to see the posts where people say, "I've been offered <insert model name here> by my AD. I'm not sure if I like it, but should I buy it?"

The way things are at the moment, Rolex could put a dog biscuit on an elastic band, and provided it said 'Rolex' on it, it'd sell like hot cakes.

By far the least popular out of the vivid color bunch....green is flat, somewhat resembles the 50th GMT gold anniversary which was not much of a mover pre discontinuation....

the gap is large 11k green vs 19k turquoise and 14 or 15 coral red or yellow

The OP green is awesome. It's the closest to the actual "Rolex green" of any of them. I also get that certain colors become extra hyped at different times but it's not like they are introducing new colors the world has never viewed before. The Pepsi has looked cool with bright red and blue for 70 years. So why would I get sick of a red OP in a couple years?. That said, I'm not sure it makes sense to have any dramatic colored watch as your only watch, if you care about maximum flexibility. But to add to a collection, absolutely.

Haven’t seen the green in the metal, however it reminds of the traditional Jaguar green.

It’s much lighter than BRG.

It might be better described as Jade or Nephrite methinks.

Is it a biscuit or cake?

(very UK VAT discussion)

however the green is nice but rather dull and uninspiring. I think they could have gone for something more vivid to match the rest of the collection
Oh and there was a OP41 in green for sale in the Uk last week at £7.5k approx..

Same could be said for the blue: it’s the hardest dial color to get for stainless SkyD and DJ41, as well as other brands like PP, AP and VC sport models. Yet, somehow, it seems to be the most readily available OP.

As for green, anecdotal evidence suggests tastes are shifting towards olive as well.

I think it is popular but maybe not as much as turquoise, red or yellow. IMO it is because there are other green options for Rolex but not red, yellow or turquoise. Since I already have the green sub and olive DD I would pick other colors 1st. Already have turquoise and red. I would go with yellow next

Sure but you said it's not popular.

Not as popular as turquoise/coral/yellow is not unpopular.

Grey it's well over retail. People are prepared to buy second-hand because they can't get it from an AD.

Have you seen or been offered one at your AD?

Maybe if there was a coral or turquoise bezel Sub (and Rolex decide to only send ADs one of each in 2021 as with OPs) then those'd be more in demand than the LV. All relative of course.

REALITY-You can't touch a new one for less than double list.
Try going into an AD with no spend history and ask for one. Make sure to tell them they are not popular.
Tell us the results.

“They’re so unpopular, Rolex isn’t even sending them to us, since they only send us the cool models. Like this 31mm DateJust here… see, it has a steel and gold Jubilee bracelet, and this one even comes with a Diamond dial!”

Uh no dude. Why would you consider a green op a ladies watch. Not manly enough like a hairy chested brawny submariner..

Never been a real fan. I had a hulk for a short period and couldnt take to it. They now fetch a tidy price of course, but thats typical of me. Sell before the hype.
