Missing Rolex in Rolex store

Hi all, I was in my local big shopping centre (mall) depending in where you're from and the Rolex AD that *usually has plenty in stock had only 3, yes 3(!) women's watches in their shop window! Nothing in the store re Rolex other than the ladies in the window.
Five years ago I bought my 114060 sub in that very shop and I tried on a GMT and a Deep-sea too the same day. So what exactly is going on?
Is this meant to create hype and hysteria surrounding their watches? Not even any two-tone versions in stock, just 3 lonely watches in the window...

Rolex will be trying to fix this situation. This awful customer experience is not by design. There is a perfect storm right now, but it will pass. Patience is needed I think.

Empty displays do nothing but provide to the general passerby's or walk-in potential customers a confusing impression.
Other manufacturers have filled displays, even Rolex' sister Tudor.
But whaddya gonna do.

In the US, we are seeing floor models being put on the shelf. They aren't for sale, but at least they're something to look at.

I was just in Las Vegas and visited all 4 Rolex ADs... Two to three ladies watches at most. Other brands fully stocked. I get why they are doing it but it sure looks pretty pathetic.

YES.....I was in Korman....AD in Austin, Tx....a week ago and like everywhere the had exactly 2 watches on display. Both common ladies models. They are not my regular AD but I was in the area and had not been in the store before so decided to see what their situation was.

If you aren’t already ordering things directly then they’re not looking to sell to you.

OP
As I said in another thread.....it is a terrible year or two for collectors and enthusiasts but a good year for high rollers. Demand is off the chart, supply is limited, so AD's selling to customers who have spent big bucks on jewelry. I have 1 purchase with an AD, so is the AD going to sell to me or the guy/gal who spends $100K annually? That is why I bought a Cartier and Breitling this year.

LOL, no kidding... OP, have you been absent the last few years and just rejoining the Rolex community? It's been a mess for a while now.

I cant imagine the current system is good for long term business once this social media hype dies down. Constantly pushing potential new customers like myself to other brands. If I go to BMW to buy a car and they wont sell me one and tell me they dont know how long Ill be waiting for one. Yet I see brand new BMWs at used car dealers and I go down the road to Mercedes and they sell me one and treat me like a king. Guess where im going for another car. Back to Mercedes.

Long story short, the ADs sell everything out the back door to grey dealers. You'll find all the Rolex watches you want for a huge premium price above msrp.

I am sorry OP, I don’t mean to pick on you, but as someone posted, you have a lot of catching up to do. Spend a few (like 3 or 4 thousand) hours reading the threads on this topic and you will understand.

I've seen some with 0, so you're doing good with 3. Thats a bonanza!
A few short reads here, and you'll see that your experience is not abnormal..

I was just trying to make light of the situation. I don't need to 'catch up' I am fully aware of whats happening with Rolex and their AD''s shady dealings. I was just stating the obvious and if that upsets you, then tough.

In the same AD the other windows were full of Oris, Omega, Breitling, Longines and brimming with Rolex's other company; Tudor, except the new chrono obvs.
Like a previous guy said, if.you keep going to BMW and they're binning you off to sell to someone else that spends more, you're just gonna go down the road to Mercedes and buy a car from them?!

I don't believe anyone was 'upset', just a little surprised by your seemingly genuine original post.
A 'Tough' crowd it is then..
