Congrats! I wanted to like this dial so much since the rhodium and green go so well but I could never my head past the odd Baton at 9 unfortunately.

Suits well.. but just curious. With 7” wrist, you can easily sport a 41mm DJ as well. So what made you go for 36mm rather? Mine is 6.75 almost and I’m thinking of a blue dial DJ as next purchase so.

that looks great...i have a similar watch in the 40mm version - my favourite dial on a datejust

my theory on the white baton at 9 is that it balances out the white of the date window at 3 so that you have 5 characters above the mid line of the dial and 5 characters below the mid line

Thanks all! It's a regular Jubilee bracelet. I did not have to wait at all. I saw it and could not get it out of my head. Went back hoping it would be sold (watch addiction LOL), but it was still there and picked it up without a blink!

IIRC, it only came out with that dial on DateJust II. And since it was available (2021 36mm) there, I had no choice!
And seriously, with fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet it wears larger (IMO), than 36mm. I also believe that it looks very well balanced in this size. My first Rolex was a DateJust in the late 80's. The first time I saw the 40-41 version I thought it was on steroids. Times change and I am used to the larger sizes. My other sons inherited from me two Datejust 41's. They look perfect as well TODAY for me.

Congrats! This was the exact watch I was wanting. I asked my AD to order it for me. I popped in this weekend and they had the exact watch on the oyster bracelet, so I went ahead and picked it up. The green numerals absolutely come to life in the sunlight.

A lot of love for 36mm DJ's of late....with good reason. Well done!

Also, I've never had a watch that's so hard to photograph. You have to get the right light to capture the green numerals, but that sunburst rhodium dial shifts like crazy.

Agree! Really hard to get the green without affecting the rhodium.

Very nice pic!! I believe this to be the absolute best DJ configuration.

The lume marker at 9 is a sheer stroke of genius that elevates this watch into the stratosphere. Adds balance, cleanly divides the watch into a north/south, aids in immediate legibility, and places a visual landmark to a balanced compass of unique North/South/West/East markers on the dial. Plus, gives this particular model its unique and immediately-recognized persona. One of the most brilliant designs.

Seeing the smooth bezel vs the flutted, it would be tough to decide between the 2.
