It's like a new leather jacket, needs to be broken in

When I notice a Rolex, I am more curious and admiring of one that looks like it's been places and done things than one that looks like new bling

You could send the bezel to LA Watchworks and they would fix that for you. Based on how much paid to do the PT bezel of my gone YM probably will be like $125-150

It isn't worth it but can the bezel be removed and replaced?

Thanks

Really doesn't look bad.

Yes, you can replace the bezel. I replaced my 16570 bezel when it was serviced. Paid $230 (Jan 2021) Really enjoying my "new" watch!

Thanks all for your comments. I enjoyed reading them. After a week or two I'm sure the scratches will just fade from view.

I would not worry about it, barely noticeable and gives it character

This is what I did on a 216570 I had with a bezel that was in terrible shape, boarder line needing replacement. Bezel came back looking factory. Cost $150.

My recommendation.... wait until the watch needs service and get the bezel fixed/replaced at that time. If the watch is still under Rolex warranty, send to RSC and they will replace the bezel. If not under factory warranty send to LA Watchworks. They use the same machines that Rolex uses.

Here is my 20 year old, after a proper service. I would bet a donut or two that it has seen more activity and adventure than 99% of the watches shown on the Forum.

Don't sweat the small stuff.

Wear it and don't focus on the scratch.

Eventually you will get used to scratches. It inevitable. It’s also ok. It’s made to be worn

Is it a display item or a watch?

If it is the first, get the bezel exchanged., put it in a box and admire it as you would a baseball collectors card. Then go out a get yourself a G-Shock.

If it is the second, wear it scratch it, bash it, chip it and see each mark as a reminder of fond memory and a story.

To me it is a watch, a man's watch: designed for extreme situations and a hard life... it is not a Patek or VC for designed for the cultured man.

Then in 10 years or so send it for a full service and it will come back as new.

My GMT ii had a cracked ceramic bezel, a chipped crystal and enough scratches to think it was a cat's play toy. I loved how it looked.

Then it got a service, came back better than new and is now about to get abused again.

Thats how a man wears a watch
