Depends on who you ask. Lot of people who put their name down in 2016/2017 are still waiting.

Really comes down to history, your AD, timing, and some luck

My white dial Daytona took 9 months, which is the longest I’ve waited for a watch

I wish you could have the same chance as your 126600
116503 2T black dial is easy either at retail or a couple of thousand above list
6 months ago i helped a friend buy one for 15500 euro
The 116500 because you like the less desirable black dial (I do too) hopefully $35.000
might be doable.

thanks :) I want to give it a go for 6-12 months..then we'll see..if desire can take over my senses :P
I want to hope it will be retail or pass.. I have been a collector of other stuff for years, paid items x10 their actual retail etc in the past. I don't like helping resellers, they are part of the problem you know :P

Daytona (116500LN) oyestersteel (black dial)

It was very easy to get my 126600 SD(only 3 weeks waiting).. and it looks like most owners got it within 2 months..I am wondering what would be the case of any of the above Daytonas? As I am quite new..:s

hi, we have almost same taste,
i ordered and still waiting for my 126600 which should be with me next week,
but now i also kind of interested in the white dial SS daytona,
but anyway have you tried it on your wrist ?

i get the 126600 because of the size, normally i never anything below 44mm.
i like the design of the daytona, but i'm scared of the 40mm might be a bit too small for me.

OP - it will depend on how much you’ve spent at the AD over say the past 24 months and your relationship with said AD. After this is established you need to factor in variables like the location of the AD. Is it in a big city, as such with a high probability of other contenders for SS pieces who spend similar amounts? It’s just logic really.

More people spending similar amounts at a given AD = longer wait time

no i haven't I actually went to the store but the seller I have the "relationship" is on holiday so I am waiting for for his return to ask if they have any daytona i can actually try on.
I am sure it will be ok tbh though..
regarding sizing of 126600, right next to your 44-45mm panerai, strictly the dial will have a visible difference..overall the watch is large though and looks chunky at the perfect size, just mentioning if you haven't tried it on yet.. very very nice and even though I wasn't a rolex fan, this made me reconsider :)

2 years won't be too long, but it solely depends on your AD, it could be less

Tried a white dial version yesterday at the AD, not available for sale though as it belonged to one of the SA's.

The dial is small compared to the Sub Date that I was in the store to try, the bezel is smaller in real life compared to the pictures, reading the time isn't the easiest as the hands can get lost on the dial.

But, it does have serious wrist presence, I have not been a Daytona fan based on pictures, and been pretty vocal in my criticism of the watch, but putting one on my wrist for the first time has removed a lot of the negativity I had about the watch.

However, if Rolex were to make a version with a bigger dial size then for me that would improve the watch immeasurably. Adding a date but no cyclops (similar to the new Zenith Chronomaster) would make the watch almost perfect.

Suffice to my say my try on with the watch resulted in me asking my AD to put me on the list for one, how long will it take was my question, as quickly as I can get you one was the reply. It could be a long wait.

No problem if you are willing to pay 3 times MSRP.

Good luck. I’ve been offered two Daytona’s in 12m and none were the one I was after.

The two toned, especially diamond inset isn’t as hard to get. Daytona are usually allocated by head office or the owner for AD chains so an established relationship helps.

What I have also experienced is the fact of being famous, that’s another lane to explore to get the watch….

Here in the Seattle area - the wait was three years for a Panda Chronograph. The gentleman buying it had a massive purchase history too. Wayyy more than I have.

I'd say probably never, unless you buy a lot more than that sea dweller
