fakes..
Yesterday a sales rep came in at my mom’s biz and what was he wearing … after a good second look a 127.. however the dial looked blue to her , so after a chat she pointed out his watch and asked if that was the 1950 Panerai (my poor mom is stuck between me and my Dad talking Pam constantly so there is little she does not know anymore..) however she asked that the blue dial seemed odd, however he explained that it was not the real deal and that the anti reflective coating made it appear blue.
He had actually bought it off a jeweller shop in Holland ... and he said it carried a Valjoux Calibre, he also owned a replica Flyback, purchased off the same Jeweller, mind you this is in Holland I understand that these are for sale over the web etc, but at an actual Jeweller .. that seems rather odd…… |

My friend was wearing a fake the other day. Surprised me... Definitely easy to see the difference.

You've got to remember that the Panerai of today isn't the Panerai who created all the 'legendary' watches, and most of those are 'Marina Militare' branded as they were military watches. Richemont bought the name and the patents, but a lot of the watches are still being produced by others and i don't see anything wrong with it, yes Panerai made these, but to me that company is gone.

It depends, if they moved the watch production to the swatch factory and produced them on the next line to the timex and by the same staff what would your view be? As for Panerai, the only thing that really came across to Richemont was the name, some call the Panerai of today 'hommages'.

this is just my opinion but a jeweler who breaches their integrity to sell a fake ANYTHING can't be trusted to sell a REAL anything.
