Tudor Black Bay Harrods Edition Disco’d

Anyone else hear this?

Was in a Tudor AD at the weekend chatting to the SA & they said the Harrods edition Black Bay was about to be or had already been disco’d by Tudor.

Anyone else hear this?

P.S - I’m not one for starting ‘my AD said….’ BS, this is straight up from the horses mouth

It would make sense - everyone else is releasing a green-dial as part of their main catalogue. As long as the Harrods deal continues, Tudor can't do that.

Given the changes to the Tudor Black Bay sub-lines (e.g. adjustable clasp on BB58 Bronze, ceramic parts, display case backs) and that the BB41 has been around since 2012 (only has had the new 70 hour movement since then) would perhaps all suggest that it is time for Tudor to incorporate the whole BB41 line with the upgrades and perhaps some design changes which might include thinning out of the case. After all Rolex has upgraded its Sub so it would now appear to be Tudor’s turn.
If the above is correct, it would also suggest that the current Harrods edition would be quietly discontinued.

Interesting. I could see it or a modification that distinguishes these watch from a new Harrod's Black Bay of some type.

Maybe a revamp of the current edition for Harrod's. I'm still hoping to get one someday! Anybody can't collect and would be happy to pass their spot in line to another watch enthusiast?

I still won't buy this until they make it a 58.

There is already a green bezelled BB58 in 18ct gold.

Given that Tudor are using solid gold for the first time (and appear keen to go upmarket), I very much doubt they would risk it’s sales volume by allowing a further (green) Harrods BB58…

I've tried it in person and it is way too thick to become a highly sought after model I think. Even my friend who owns this piece finds it unwearable fue to the size. He has bought it purely for investment purposes tho haha. Good riddens anyway :P

We have to give them credit for trying to make a movement

That’s one of my two problems with it as well. Looking right at it I really like the green with a dark face and sort of a gilt feel to the dial area. That vintage charm for me anyways is lost pretty quickly when you look at it from any sort of side angle.

Additionally I know most people say you adjust to the snowflake hand. In my opinion it works on the Pelagos, but on the black bay not so much. In my opinion it just looks silly and bot right pointing at round indices with a square hand.

It’s a shame. I really want to like the BB/BB58 line but can’t bring myself to do it.

On topic though I think Harrods and ADs have been saying that since it was released. If I recall it started at 5000 pieces and they seem to just keep raising the number.

I messaged Watchfinder querying why they had listed the Harrods as ‘discontinued’. They replied ‘ Thank you for the reply, as I mentioned these watches seem to be released in batches and there must have been a new batch released to the market meaning that it is currently not discontinued’.
Poor show from WF.

I have just picked up a Harrods edition Black Bay and the sales advisor said pretty much this when I asked whether they might switch to the BB58, given its popularity. She said that as far as she knew, there were no plans to discontinue the run on the BB41.
