Great catch! It’s pictures like that which made Rolex the tool watch of choice. It looks like a 42mm Polar on my phone screen. Proof that the larger refs are actually making it to the field, not just the board room. Thanks!

Some million dollar grants you get for the expedition should allow you to purchase meaning full tool-watch such an Explorer. Even really put it part of the expedition if if electricity gone haywire you need a dependable tool to tell time and directions. Rolex is still a tool watch for some and not as expensive compare to other high tech gear on your expedition tools. IMHO

Agreed....Especially the Explorer II. It's such a relative value in the catalog too. Larger size and two complications (date and 24 hour function).

That’s a great find. Thanks for sharing. Not enough of good rolex tool watch talk on this forum!

I’d like the white too, but I hear from actual polar explorers the black dial is more legible in a wider range of conditions from clear to blizzard. Gotta take their word for it, never even held the thing!

Yes

This is my next purchase. Loved the Exp II polar 5 digit I had years ago but the newer design like the one pictured is really a fantastic redesign.

Rolex did a great job.
