That's a serious collection of bodies and glass. I'll be interested in your impressions of how the D6 compares to the others.

UPS BROWN TRUCK Nikon 500MM F/4 FL ED VR

Been quite a dry spell in adding big guns to the Nikon Setup.. WOW They are besides being in 3 outer cardboard boxes also also encased in a really nice Style Hary Carrying Case.. This is Nikons newest 500MM F/4 Lens in their Lineup. Should be quite a stellar lens on my new Nikon D6...

Nikon 400MM F/2.8 FLED VR Super Telephoto

I guess after 3 years setting sealed up in its Nikon Packaging it was high time to bust open this Nikon 400MM F/2.8 FLED VR and see how it snaps pics on my new Nikon D6 Body.. Surely this is not a walk around lens and most likely will requite a Monopod or Tripod..E180D586-0636-456C-9273-3B9271C808CB.jpeg

Are you saying that you have kept it unused and sealed for 3 years?

BR, you need to have a TRF party where we we all come over and open your stuff, shoot pictures and ride your bikes.

I'm not sure my friend. I must admit, I can see the love of collecting equipment and keeping it pristine, the engineering is fabulous and as I have said, I see no reason for someone to use the equipment if one gets enjoyment from actually collecting it. It wasn't a criticism, I was just curious.

I don’t care about the bikes. I do want to have a go with the Noctilux lenses and touch a $1,000 shaving cream brush.

This afternoon while drinking some beer and messing around I will also bust open the Nikon 600MM F/4 FLED VR then that would only leave the 800MM F/5.6 FLED VR to be opened up on a special day..:) So far that 400 F/2.8 is the biggest and heaviest..

When I finish up unpacking the rest of my Nikon junk that Leica M10 Rangefinder with the 50 and 75mm noctilux lenses are next... I did finally unbox and set up my Leica SL (Type 601) with Leica 24-90 Lens as it sets right here on my desk staring at me :)

This rangefinder sure will be way out of my realm of understanding until I start playing with it a little bit..

Nikon 200MM-400MM F/4 ZOOM {SNAP -LIGHT}

After more then 5 years all caged up in its BNIB Status, early this am I finally set it up to see if it will actually work with a Gitzo 5540LS Tripod and Wimberly Mark2 Head... With now the new 180-400 mm F/4 Zoom out that has a built in teleconverter, this is out dated clutter and carting this entire kit off with me to the Emerald Isle shortly.... I think the D5 and D6 are most likely the end of a era for Nikon with a Pro Body . The Z9 most likely will now be on the top of the food chain..
