IslandWatch
[Mods please move post to appropriate forum as you see fit]
A TRF member recently asked if you could appreciate or own lower end watches after owning luxury models. I say, yes! This is the new Cherry Blossom dial from Marc and his team at Island Watch. Not bad for $299. SKX 38 mm case, sapphire crystal & 200m water resistant. An enjoyable watch to wear, and I own 2 Rolex & an Oris. |

Yes you can appreciate lower end watches. I purchased this from Marc at Island Watch about 6 months ago and for the money I think it’s a great everyday watch.

I have a friend that works at a local store… (yes, it’s the Tumi store ) ANYWAY… He is a self-proclaimed WIS. The AD is very close to him, and I would always go over and show him a new Rolex whenever I bought one. He listened intently, was genuinely interested and congratulated me sincerely. One day, he said he had bought a new watch and wanted to show me. It was an Invicta. He eagerly showed me the features, explained how they had moved on from a cheap Chinese movement to a better one, and wore it with pride. I listened as intently as if it were a Paul Newman, and I congratulated him just as much as if it were. It turns out, he has a collection of Invictas, and rotates through them all. He is always talking about the new model coming out, or what he would like to see etc. He enjoys his Invicta (which cost.. $150?) as much as I do my Rolex; and I think it is absolutely awesome. The feeling a man has for his watch does not equate to the price tag, and I would never belittle someone that owned a less-expensive watch but enjoyed wearing it; that is what it is all about. Those watches from Marc are awesome you guys, I will have to check them out myself. Wear them in good health!!!!

I’m not affiliated w/Marc in anyway. He’s just an upstanding guy in the watch community. His online only store carries many brands along w/his Islander brand. Enjoy checking it out! Sorry to hear of your beloved football team this year… Cheers, Janet |
