Squeaking oyster bracelet

Hi, I noticed that the oyster bracelet on my brand new Explorer 124270 makes a squeaking sound when the links move. Is that normal for a new watch and if not, what could be the cause?

In my experience it will wear in and the squeak will go unless anyone believes to the contrary.

Totally normal

Squeaking on my oyster lasted 4 to 6 weeks and occasionally popped up for another 2 to 3 months.

Goes away over time.

My SubC i bought preowned squeaked but went away after a week or so. But after a good wash with warm water and soap, it squeaks again for few days before it goes away.

All normal its because of the high tolerance of the oyster bracelet it will go with wearing just wash regular in soap and water rinse well after.

I asked the same question about a month ago regarding my SD43.

And overwhelmingly the response was "it is normal and will go away eventually"

Enjoy your squeak while it lasts. It will go soon and you'll never hear it again.

Have the same bracelet squeak on my new 126610. It’s becoming less and less frequent over the past week of wear.

My Tudor GMT had a similar squeak and it was gone within in couple of weeks and a soapy wash.

My new Explorer 124270 has the squeek and I freaking love it!
It means the watch is brand new and I know that it will be gone soon, so I am enjoying every minute of it!

Had the very same problem.

It was not the bracelet, but the spring pin.

A tiny drop of silicon spray to the spring pins fix the problem

The squeak has not returned in 6 months

Enjoy it while it lasts. Nothing better than a fresh bracelet!

I miss that sound as well. Nothing hits the same as the squeak of a fresh oyster bracelet #jealous

You’ll learn to miss that sound. It’ll go away in a couple weeks tops.

Not necessary. It goes away with a bit of wear.

Thanks everyone, good to hear it's only because the watch is and isn't yet worn in.
