Well, as it develops a patina, maybe that will change? But I think quantity of gold, to your point, matters. Two other things:

1. The majority of TT Subs I see are blue; that in and of itself draws a lot of attention, and it can be difficult to tell whether your eyes are really being drawn to the gold or the blue.

2. Daytonas also have a much thicker gold bezel, and the gold pushers on the side, so surface area covered by gold is substantially greater.
