Honest opinion needed!

Hi everyone
I’m interested in getting the new two tone explorer (yeah I’m that kinda guy)
But I am also very interested in your opinion if you have seen it, tried it or own it

If there’s an alternate two tone watch the community can recommend let me know!
Cheers!

PS. Already have a Blue dial jubilee DJ 41mm

Welcome to the forum and I think that TT Explorer is a really nice watch. My TT Bluesy sub is one of my most favorite Rolex watches. Good luck to you!

Welcome Mikael

I like all the "two tones" I just bought one, and I saw the Explorer live.
I would recommend it

Welcome to the forums!

I have seen the TT Explorer in person and I think it is a great watch and is great on a wide variety of wrists.

For me, the iconic two tone is the 126613LB - I always think of this one when I hear "two tone Rolex." However, my favorite two tone in the catalog is the 126711CHNR...that one is so sexy on so many levels.

I have ss sub41. DJ 36 blue fluted with jubilee and YM 37 TT. TBH I find that TT brings another dimension to the watch. Steel looks dull compare to gold.

I love the TT Submariner (Bluesy). Really stands out on the wrist. Definitely one of my favorite two tone.

I always love TT watches.

I saw TT Explorer 1 at the boutique, it looks fantastic, goes for it.

Welcome. My honest opinion on that watch is while i appreciate it on others, i don’t like it for myself. Not a fan of tt yg nor 36mm rolex watches when there is a 39mm alternative (even if discontinued)

Looks great in pictures must look better in person. I’m biased but I think the CHNR is the best TT out there

With more AD's getting non functional not for sale examples to show to clients, I would suggest you make phone calls to see if an AD has an example to show you. I have seen the example watch at my local AD I feel the TT Explorer 36mm watch is stunning. Seeing the example watch is one thing, getting the real thing from the AD is another thing. Hope you get one soon.

I'm not much of a fan of that particular TT. Too small and the gold just doesn't look right on that watch IMO. For a sport watch the CHNR is probably the best looking TT out there. Depending on your wrist size the TT SD43 looks sharp. Something about the added real estate makes it look better to my eyes.

I am a fan of the 36 size, but tried this one on and it did feel small. Maybe the SS would feel different - only tried the TT.

I really think its the combo of a 'slim' watch and narrower bracelet. Maybe the TT configuration has a further optical aspect to it making it seem even slimmer, but I think the bracelet plays a big part in how it feels.

Was for the wife anyway, but she said it was too big for her..

I have the two tone explorer. It looks amazing in certain situation and lighting. At certain times it looks too small, like a lady watch. In either watch, the lume is the best IMHO.

I would say this, after putting on the TT Explorer, with the polished gold middle link, putting on a SS seems like a bit of a let down. I mean it depends on what you want from the watch. I think if you want to have something to wear daily that will not draw any attention, but that is still a Rolex, I think the SS is prefect. If you never had a TT before and want to try it out, the Explorer is a good entry. But at least for me, it's no longer a daily watch because of the gold. If I live in Pasadena, I would totally wear it every day. But I don't and sometimes on the course of the day I will be in a shady neighborhood, be it getting gas or something else and that puts undue attention on my wrist. That's where I stand with this particular watch right now.

If you want a TT watch that's more manly and less polarizing, I would hunt for the GMT rootbeer. I think that is an amazing looking watch.

I tried it on at an AD near my office and really liked it. I would certainly consider get it at some point, but it isn’t super high on my “want” list

Probably the fact that the TT bracelet accentuates the narrowness of the center links. With the all-brushed, all-steel bracelet on the stainless version, you don't have that effect.

Same reason I find that the silver dial OP wears the largest - dial and bezel sort of blend together. I suppose this would hold on a DJ, too, but haven't looked.

I've had the pleasure of trying on the new TT Explorer. In my perspective, it looks and wears exactly like how you'd think a TT Explorer would, nothing more and nothing less. I didn't feel enamored nor did I feel disappointment. To me, it just is. All this to say that if you dig TT watches, and the original Explorer look, chances are that you'll love this watch.

At the end of the day 99% of the people you cross won't know what it is, so I'd simply choose what speaks to you. I'd forget about all the noise saying that gold doesn't belong on a tool watch, etc.

Well, do you really like it? If you can maybe try one on does it "sing" to you, as they say? Then buy it, and don't listen to anybody else's opinion! Your money, your watch, you'll be wearing it! Personally I think it's a great looking watch and would love to see one on my wrist. Good luck in getting one!

I do think it looks less gold in natural daylight. And then at night, the gold really shines and it's more jewelery.

I want to point how that either SS or TT has a really nice glossy black dial that I think makes it looks really good.

I think it's perfect for Santa Monica. But not so much say San Francisco.

Great video review btw

I am a NOT a fan personally of the tt Explorer.

My perception of the Rolex explorer is a solid watch with time keeping as the only complication. The watch does this while being well protected from any number of extreme situations by utilizing shock absorbers and is anti-magnetic as well. It handles temperature extremes from -4 to 100+ degrees and water resistant to 330 ft.

All of that in a minimalist design that manages to stay well under the radar and is the perfect stainless steel sports watch (for it's toughness) but can be worn with evening attire much more tastefully than - for example - the Submariner.

The gold takes away from this and pushes it firmly into the jewelry/dress category IMO.

Went to a watches and whiskey holiday event at the AD tonight. Zero Rolexes in the cases but ran into a buddy who was wearing the new TT Explorer. I must say, amazing in the flesh!! Really cool watch.

I prefer the bluest when it comes to two tones. I haven’t seen a two tone explorer in person though.
