Suppressed interest rates over the past 20 years has caused a whole slew of problems as investors seek acceptable returns above inflation while taking on risk they in some cases have not properly assessed. That was the genesis of the mortgage backed security crisis of 2007-08.

It’s an environment that punishes the fiscally conservative household’s savings account and benefits large corporations who use leverage more effectively. Meanwhile the government here could give two craps because it makes our enormous debt burden more palatable.

Yep, and while folks are talking inflation, the role of low interest rates in prices have been known for a long time. As interest rates have come down, real estate prices have exploded and that's one example.
