New Rolex Sub Date and amazing pick up day experience

My first luxury watch. I have been wearing Apple Watch from my 6+ years and before that quartz watches all my life. So getting an automatic movement watch and that alone Rolex is a surreal experience for me. I am still trying to digest that I bought an expensive watch for which I know little about. But looking forward to building up the collection now.
I picked up the watch few days ago and was finally able to take some pictures. The Rolex 2021-22 collection book and six is courtesy of my AD.

Speaking of AD, I have no prior history. Put on my name on the list couple of months back I was honestly going to pull the plug on Tudor BB58 but deep down I always wanted Rolex. Last week got the call from the AD, saying we are reconfirming interest for 2022 and need me to come down to the shop or meet in person. I had no idea what to expect but I wanted to make sure that AD seed me as a serious buyer so I went in the shop.

On pickup day, AD first asked me how’s my Tudor purchase going and told me how Rolex situation has been. He said they want to build the relationship and gave me the book. We chatted for few more minutes and he told me that wait time could be anywhere between 6-12 months right now. when I was about to leave he said that he has something else he wants to give me and he than pull out the watch and put me in front of me.. He said it’s mine if I want to buy it. And without thinking I said “absolutely!!” . I still can’t believe that i am able to buy a Rolex in less than 2-months with no prior purchase history whatsoever!

That’s refreshing to know that newbies are getting watches who really deserve them. Well done OP and thanks for the story.

Congrats and enjoy. Nice story, if true. But this story would never occur in my area.
