Description: 1989 Rolex 16610 Yellow Gold Submariner. The late 80’s brought with it some interesting vibes and this gold 16618 tropical submariner in particular perfectly summarizes everything we loved about that decade. The dial has faded from the standard anodized blue seen on this reference to a golden yellow dial. This effect was first seen in the nipple dial 1680 reference and carried through the 16808 and 16618 reference. The insert has faded from a black insert to a ghost blueish grey and fits at home on this reference. Technically a blue dial would be more correct but in this instance who cares when it looks this good.

Dial: Tropical faded blue dial into gold

Insert: Faded Black insert with gold pip

Hands: Original tritium hands

Case: Excellent condition
