Generally, no. I think they are often cluttered and unbalanced. The Speedmaster is an exception

Great collection.
The chrono is the best complication and most useful. Well done, thanks for sharing mate.

I am curious. Is it the look, the function(s) or both?

I am a movement super nerd so complex movements interest me more than more simple workhorse movements.

I love my Daytona and Speedmaster. The 4130 and 1831 have to be two of the best Chrono movements of all time. I’ve also been very impressed with the quality of the new Tudor Black Bay Chrono movements. I think that reference is significantly underpriced for the value that you receive

P.S Great collection

Yes, I only have one (Speedmaster), but I can easily think of a half dozen chronographs that I’d like to have.

I’ve never had a use for the chrono complication, but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate them.

I never owned one primarily because I find them a bit harder to read to tell time. YMMV

I used to like chronos, had a few but sold them all eventually. First reason is I don't really have any use for the complication, I mean I could find a use but it's not really a necessity. This is not a deal breaker though.

My latest chrono was a Speedy Racing co-ax master chronometer, great piece of kit, most accurate watch I've ever had, really a terrific piece. I sold it because I quit wearing it, I found the legibility at a glance not great and therein lies my second problem with chronos, I don't find them very legible, not only the chrono subdials themselves, but the actual time. The subdials tend to get in the way of the hour and minutes hands.

I really prefer a three hander to give me the time at the flick of the wrist without having to squint between subdials and other complications.

Thanks and love your collection too.

Have a couple but can’t stretch to a Daytona unless I get “the call", still these will do for now.

My only chrono has been a Speedy which I love and find easy to read even with older eyes. Bought my second chrono yesterday, so new it hasn’t even made it into my signature yet, a Hanhart 417 ES with two sub-dials which I am thrilled with. I have had a long-standing interest in a Sinn 3006 hunters watch but have been hesitant pull the trigger without handling it because I understand it is tall. I have zero interest in a Daytona as I find it hard to read however I could force myself to suffer with a platona if one fell from the sky and landed gently on a pillow at my feet.

I love them too. My first chrono was a Tissot heritage 1948, and I've got some Russian chronographs as well. I hope to obtain one of the new Speedmasters this year, although I'm undecided on whether to go with the hesalite crystal or the sapphire with display caseback. Daytona will have to wait -- I want a GMT before that.

Meh. I have no applications where chronograph functions would be useful to me; so no, I'm not a fan. I do understand the complication is useful to some. Whatever floats your boat.

I do like chronos. And the Speedy is my all time favorite. The Tudor blue/white/orange Heritage Chrono is on my list also. And the IWC Chrono version of the Pilot watch. And there is also room for another Speedy in the future, maybe a Broad Arrow or one of the white dials.
Zero interest in a Daytona though.

My not so common chrono…I love the 38mm size and manual wind. Surprisingly accurate timekeeping and just slips under the cuff when I’m wearing shirts…

Love chronographs and have owned many. The two that remain in my collection are the Tudor Heritage & Sinn 757 UTC.

The Tudor Heritage was the watch that brought Tudor back from oblivion back in 2010, even before the Black Bay revolution. It captures the vintage aesthetic w/ modern construction & proportions. The multi faceted, highly detailed dial remains extremely easy to read & the 12 hour rotating bezel adds a 2nd time zone function.

The Sinn 757 UTC is a beast that can do it all. It features an independent 2nd time zone, bidirectional rotating bezel, 12 hour chronograph, as well as Sinn technology such as Tegement steel, copper sulphate capsule, & Faraday cage movement protection.

Yes, definitely like chronographs. No Daytona yet, but some concern about the small size and light weight (at least the non-PM versions).

Great thread! I'm really enjoying the photo posts. I'm a huge fan of chronos! I will be honest in that I just love the way they look. I don't think I'd ever personally need the function of one. If I every do own one, maybe I'd use it to time a steak on the grille? That would be about the extent of my need. I'd love to own a vintage 6239 "Big Daytona" with a silver sunburst dial. One of my favorites!
