Question about possibility of installing a glidelock
Hello!
I'm interested in purchasing the 37mm Rose Gold Yachtmaster 126655 which comes with an OF bracelet with easy link extension, although I noticed the larger 40mm RG YM 326235 comes with an easylink and glidelock system. I'm wondering how easy (or possible) would it be to get the 40mm YM glidelock clasp onto the 37mm YM? I'm sure there are those that have tried? Would an AD be able to assist with this? I'm aware there is a discrepancy in lug width, but not sure how big each of the clasps themselves are. Thanks in advance! |

There are no glidelock bracelets in 37mm on any Rolex. You are limited to what endlinks fit.

Thanks for the fast response! I'm assuming it's not something where I can just replace the clasp itself?

I don't believe it will fit, and even it it did, it would be very difficult to source one, and the clasp alone is something like $6000.

The 126655 RG YM40 OF does come with a mini Glidelock. The easylink was only available on the previous generation (116655).
I don’t believe the clasp can be retrofitted on the YM37 OF due to the bracelet width. Not to mention, the 126655 clasp alone is about $5k - $6k~. |

I don’t think a 40mm glide lock will fit, but you might be able to try a aftermarket strap

Thanks! The 37mm fits perfectly on my small wrist, so I'd like to keep the size consistent! It's a shame that the glidelock isn't available on the smaller model, but hopefully the watch will fit well without it!

The mini glidelock is great --- But as someone like you with a smaller wrist who also owns the 37mm, I prefer the thinner clasp of the 37mm over the functionality of the larger/thicker 40mm clasp. It's just more comfortable wearing overall once you get size dialed in.
The clasps on the new Rolex professional models is one of my biggest gripes. |
