Since Every Third Thread is About Daytona Prices....

...I can't help but notice the sam dealer who sold me my (one year old) platinum Daytona five years ago is now selling a (one year old) SS Daytona for more than I paid for the platinum one.

THAT is ridiculous. As ridiculous as me adding the Daytona price discussion.

But what would that seller sell a one year old Platona for today?

Really?

You got your platinum Daytona for under $50k a year ago?

It's fun to see how high can SS Daytona go before people stop buying.
Apparently, this crazy is not stopping yet.

Never mind! You said FIVE years ago. I read it as last year initially. Makes sense now.

That is nuts, absolutely bonkers.

I usually don't participate in Daytona price threads (lol) but hey, since you are an actual owner and don't quote a YouTube "expert" to back up your claims, I'll give it a shot.

Yeah, who knows, but to think that the SS version lapped the platinum one? I definitely didn't see THAT coming! Crazy times.

That's about $174K USD. On the high side, but not completely out of line from what I've seen.

Actually, the Platinum version that is several years old commands around $125-135,000 USD retail.

Maybe for the non-baguette version. I see baguette versions listed north of 170k USD

Jets didn’t specifically if the one he saw was unworn or not. If unworn, it’s high but not far off.

Google Charli and Dixie D'Amelio. They're Tik Tok "stars" who aren't particularly attractive (think low rent Kardashians) and their "dancing" doesn't strike me as particularly good, and yet...they respectively made $17.5 million and $10 million dollars doing it last year. There are many other Youtubers and Tik Tockers who make less but still way more than I have ever made in a year in a corporate middle-management job. A job that even 15 years ago would have been considered a "good job."

Where does the money come from? Largely from the hoi polli who should be doing something better with their money. People have a long history of monetizing stupidity (I give you every fad of the 20th century) but the internet and social media has ramped that up to 11.

I'm kinda rooting for an alien invasion myself. It's time.

Well everyone knows that crypto Stainless Steel is way more valuable than precious metal Platinum, so it goes without saying that a SS panda will be worth way more than a Plat Daytona and double up if the SS has a rare pokemon white dial

The platinum Daytona used was as low as 45K. 50K was the average used price everywhere for quite a while. Most ADs probably gave a nice discount to their select clients on them. Times have changed for sure.
