If you already on the list for an SS model then your chances of getting it sooner than you’d expect are big with that AD. You did well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A rarity these days not to jump on an opportunity to flip & profit.

It would seem as if the SA or store almost expect it in this case. Essentially bundling the Explorer 2 after the fact as a thank you note. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi Gents,
I’m glad plenty agree with me that I’ve made the right decision and I hope the watch goes into the hands of someone who will truly appreciate it I was actually travelling interstate to this area, and it’s my first purchase here. I currently don’t have anything under EOI for this AD as our relationship is brand new, but I do hope I’ll visit again and pop by to see what’s in store I walked out with this beauty in hesalite: |

you did the right thing, with the hope that the next person who gets the call, REALLY wants it and doesn't do what your friend suggested.

The new speedies are even better now. A classic but now with a much better bracelet and a pretty spectacular movement. |

I’ve turned down pieces before even though I could have sold them for higher. I’m about collecting and wearing, not flipping.

OP good move on both the purchase and the turn down. You now have good credibility with that AD. I turned down a new polar cause I just didn’t like it and a black 116500 cause I just could read the dial. Few months later was offered the white dial Daytona. It’s a game of patience as long as you buy only what you like and not anything and everything offered to you.

You did the right thing! Hopefully someone comes along who has coveted this watch and will be thrilled to get it at MSRP.
I know it’s helped my AD relationship by passing on easily flippable watches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If you don't want it no big deal turning it down.

Should have bought it and sold it the very same day, then either pocket the nice free cash or put it towards a watch you really want.

Don’t need much knowledge. Buy watch after checking Chrono24 and then call David SW or Takuya. The whole process takes 10 minutes of effort and the money is in your account 24-48 later. That’s why too many people do it obviously because it’s too easy. I think OP made a mistake if he is a relatively new customer but if you have a long relationship and bought plenty of watches from AD you definitely got some brownie points for not being a flipper. Good move. It looks pretty big on your wrist in any case.

Leaving it for someone who truly wants it is the nicer thing to do, however some people just get so consumed by financial gain. |

If it’s not great, then no reason to buy it. What size wrist do you have? |

Did you make a mistake? No, if it didn’t appeal to you. But I would’ve bought and flipped it or wear it for a while then flip it if i didnt like it. I don’t intentionally throw away opportunities to make money.

I mean, you could have made $6k profit if you bought it. Some would say not buying it was a massive mistake and others might not care about $6k at all. It’s all relative. If it was me, I would be in regret.
