Aftermarket Top-Hat
Are there any decent aftermarket top hats for my 1680 out there? I'm not loving the huge bevels on my service unit.

The D19 SuperDome from TrueDome could be a good option.
Or you may reach out to Phillip Ridley to see if he has any more NOS 1680 crystals at his place. Good luck!

There are plenty of options listed in this particular thread if you read through. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=764726

Last time I checked, LAWW has NOS 1680 top hat plexi. I have learned these won't reliably pass pressure test or keep out water in the same way as a service crystal.

Thanks for all the input guys! What I'm looking for is a top quality aftermarket top hat that is more like the original, without the huge bevels of the service crystal, NOS Rolex top hats although in new condition can be several decades old and not as reliable as a top quality aftermarket replacement.

Any chance you can post a photo focusing on the bevels? I've recently inherited a 1680 that my Dad had serviced several years ago, at which time I suspect the dial was re-lumed. Your post has now made me wonder if the top hat crystal on mine was replaced.
