Rolex GMT-MASTER Ref 16750 Question
Hey! I'm looking at purchasing a Rolex GMT-Master Ref 16750. Can someone help me out on if this is the original dial and bezel or a service replacement?
Thank you! |

It is a matte dial, which was a great period.
Do you know the partial serial to determine year of production? You could also check if the insert is a blue or red back.. Just for appropriateness, is the bracelet period correct? Just little things to learn what you are looking at. You only provided one picture and no other details. |

To add to TimeToGo's list, check that the date wheel has open 6s and 9s. Not a dealbreaker, but something you may want to be aware of.

To add to the above, the insert is not genuine, the GMT hand looks weird. The coronet seems to be covering the L of Rolex.

What should the date wheel look like and why does it matter?

It matters if you’re a stickler for originality, which many hobbyists/collectors are. And open 6s/9s look cooler, IMHO.
Some guys get geeked up if the microscopic font on an insert doesn’t match a specific serial-number range of a watch. Same hyper detailed approach can apply to every detail of a vintage Rolex, including date wheels. |

Insert topic,
In case we can't have a look on the back colour (red genuine vs blue serviced), I've read on gmtmaster1675 blog, the genuine insert should have oval top on the 8 (so on 18) to be expected as not a serviced insert (which are rounded 8). Is it the same for 16750 ? What do you think of it? |
