Hopefully he isn't a member here. Your inability to choose your own watch doesn't bode well for your career.

He knows how much he pays you, wear whatever you want. If a rare circumstance exists where you are compensated substantially more than the rest of the team, maybe wear something else. I still probably wouldn’t though. OP 41 is pretty low key, most won’t notice.

I could go into work with a 500k watch and most if not all people wouldn’t notice. If you are worried about it I would avoid any Rolex but I don’t think it really matters, you wear the watch for yourself
Note. I don’t actually have a 500k watch |

I wear a vintage Tudor whenever I'm going to either a job interview or first day/few days at a new job. It's very subtle to the point that no one notices it unless they actually know watches. Once I scope out what others are wearing, I might switch to something a bit more flashy.
It's unfortunate, but a Rolex (perhaps more than any other watch) can give off a very negative vibe. Quick story: I worked as an Assistant District Attorney my last year of law school and wore a Submariner during a trial. I (well, the State) won the case and the public defender walked over and said, "Man, the State must be making a killing off innocent folks to get you a Rolex." It was really annoying to hear, but I switched to a Casio the rest of my time there to just avoid the unnecessary encounters. |

Either th OP black or the Apple watch (which I personally hate like 99% of Apple products, but that's another debate). On second thoughts, the OP. Make sure you don't show it off and remember it's just a watch.

I’d go with the Apple Watch the first time. Better to be understated. You’ll be meeting others on your team as well I assume. While it’s true only watch people notice other watches, you don’t want a watch person to notice if that person thinks the watch is too expensive or too flashy for your position.
