Made me laugh

I had YouTube playing in the background this morning and heard something that caught my attention.

“I didn’t set the time. I don’t set the time on my watches.” - while wearing a Hulk.

I think we can all agree most people don’t need a watch to tell time. I’m guilty of using my phone to tell time even when I have my watch on (doesn’t happen often, though it doesn’t happen). But I couldn’t wear a watch without setting the time. That’s just weird. Guess that goes to show you that Rolex truly is just jewelry to some!

I’ve been looking at my wrist to tell the time for the last 45 years since I was five years old. It doesn’t matter if there’s a wall clock in front of me I’m still going to look at my wrist. I cannot imagine something as shallow as buying a Rolex watch and not setting the time. Any luxury timepiece for that matter. However considering the current environment I believe this gentleman is telling the truth and he is no different than many others like himself who buy watches for the wrong reasons.

It's true. I have a friend who probably has one of the best private collections around and he doesn't set his watches. For me, it's part of the experience. I used to use a winder but stopped because I prefer winding and setting my watches. To each their own.

Maybe he meant that someone else sets the time on his watches for him?

Maybe the solution is to make such people feel stupid.

That thing is off by four hours. You paid $25,000 for a watch that can't even tell the time!

At least a quartz with a dead battery is right twice a day!

There may be youngsters out there that don't know how to read the analog time

But that guy is just flexing. He does not appreciate the watch. He just wants people to think he's rich

ugh

weird that you wouldn't set the time on your watch, esp when one wrist.

What kind of idiot wears a watch and doesn't set it?
Well even his un set Rolex is correct twice a day. ( I assume he does not wind it either).

I like to set the time on my watch to the nearest second, what I like about fine watchmaking is precision. Those who do not adjust their watch should put on a gold bracelet instead...

Sometimes when I want to wear my red sub i’ll forego setting the date since its a non quickset movement and I generally only wear it for a day every few weeks. Mostly to save wear and tear on the 50 year old movement (and my fingers) but i still always set the correct time.

To be fair setting the gmt hand can be a pia. It’s why my gmt is a gs quartz.

Now not setting the time at all… sighs.

I'll admit sometimes I don't set my watch right away after putting it on, usually only happens when I'm in a rush. But when I get a second I do set it.

Lol… I always set the time. Every once in a while I set the date. The only exception is when wearing the DDII.

*Always* set time, day and date. :)

I actually don’t set mine very accurately. I look at the time on my phone, then set my watch a minute or two ahead.
