Went to three stores recently and they all had the L white dial. Only one had the gray dial. The L wears really nice, but I'm still on the fence as I don't think I would give it much wrist time.

Why would anybody get the new santos is a strange idea. The previous models from the 80/90s with their flat link architecture were much more interesting visually.

The new ones are like the ROO; a great design changed for the sake of pushing a new watch to the customers instead of true innovation. Making the links convex instead of flat is a serious downgrade IMO.

Disagree, the current Santos is a thoroughly modern watch that carries the theme forward without being a simple rehash of the past designs like many other brands do with their more iconic designs. While that is not always a bad thing on its own (I don’t think something like a Tank needs a lot of changes FWIW), the Santos has seen a lot of variations to its geometry over the years and is a good platform for these kind of changes. More importantly, it takes some of the excess of the previous generation (like the 100 XL) and dials it back in a much more refined way.

The 80s/90s versions are cool, well some of them, but they do look like they are from the 80s and 90s.

Sorry, disagree completely. You sound like someone who hasn't tried one on in person. The new ones take a great design and improve significantly. The new watch is water resistant to 100m, it has an inhouse movement that is antimagnetic, you can easily switch between the metal bracelet and various straps, and its easy to size it yourself in a matter of seconds.

I'm not someone who buys oversized watches, but I just wasn't comfortable with the size of the old Santos Galbee XL, it was still to small and the bracelet was too narrow, and the Santos 100 was far too large. The new size Santos models are a far better fit for me. It took me a little while to get used to the new bezel design, but now that I'm used to it, I love it and think the current watch is a perfect evolution of the original. It's now the perfect watch for almost all occasions other than the most dressy, when one would want a simple, slim dress watch.

The new Santos is amazing! You definitely need to try it on. I got the white dial and would love to add the ADLC with rubber straps! The fit and finish is amazing for the price.

I need to try on a Santos next time I'm near a Cartier store. They look good on the bracelet but I think they look best with a strap!

After owning multiple Rolex/AP/PP I finally tried on Santos this week. This master piece is definitely underrated piece. Photo doesn't justify and must see in person to appreciate.

Stock good now? Just wanted to share to those who are worried that the bezel being a scratch magnet. Easy 5 minute fix with a jeweler's cloth..

It's a great watch to wear to the office for me personally, not flashy and goes well with smart casual/suit

Quick change and links are also nice touches, I would only add that the width of the strap seems kinda narrow and to add extra straps would be US250-350.
