No they don't have a parachrome blue main spring, but they do have the parachrome escapement hairspring. And so will the complete Rolex lineup as soon as Rolex becomes totally self sufficient in escapements parts. But IMHO they will show little or no real advantage in normal wearing over the Nivarox ones thats been used by Rolex for 3 decades plus.

BUT, it gives them the right to claim that this is in-house made by Rolex..

isnt that what most watch companies are trying to do? to be able to make a fully in-house movement?

Well its quite simple the swatch group that owns Nivarox now these escapement parts were used by 95% of the swiss manufactures for decades. But because of the strangle hold on most of the Swiss watch industry for ebauche movements escapement parts etc. Many now have been forced to manufacture there own movement and escapement parts at a very considerable expense. Its very costly to design the tool up to make these parts so many now are making there own under various different names.

icic, so its more like a no choice situation cos the parts from SWATCH are getting too expensive to continue purchasing..

Bonus info ;)

You can have your Nivarox hairspring replaced with the Parachrome blue e.g. when your Rolex need a service – at least here in Europe
