SOTC - humble edition
I’ve been a long time lurker TRF and it wasn’t until last year that I had become an ‘official’ member. I firstly want to thank the community of members for being welcoming, responsive, passionate and generally good people(except for the few trolls here and there).
I wanted to share my humble collection as it stands today(recently added 2 Seikos) for others to see. My next 3 ‘wish items’ to eventually add are the Cartier Santos XL(hopefully this summer), a Rolex Explorer II Polar(whenever my SA comes through) a Rolex TT Rootbeer(for my 40th in 2024) Please feel free to leave your thoughts, comments and any questions or for any close up shots. There are some pretty nice pieces in there and really like the diversity. Must be a lot of fun to decide each day
How do you find the Zenit? Too close to a Daytona or can it stand on its own? |

Thanks!! It’s tough to pick one as a few have sentimental value. I’m terms of comfort I would say the Grand Seiko, just love the way it feels on the wrist. The one that gets the most wear is probably the 143(wore that for the birth of my son, so a very biased pick haha) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Honestly I don’t understand the ‘hate’ this gets from The crowd that thinks it’s too close to a Daytona. The only thing in my opinion is the history where Rolex used the Zenith movement. There are many more other watches that look closer to a Daytona than this. In terms of wear, I’ve got no complaints. Wears smaller but then again I’ve got the 44mm DSSD so that could also be why. I like the flexibility of having it on the bracelet or strap. I was originally on the fence between white and black dials but glad I got the white. It definitely ‘pops’ more. The colour combination works making it very easy to match many outfits if you will. I also feel like it’s more comfortable to wear because it doesn’t have the grey market Daytona price tag. That would always be on my mind if I had a Daytona. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Great collection! My two favorites in there are the GS GMT and the SPB237. Great stuff all around.

I'm always surprised (though I shouldn't be) how well the Speedmaster stands out in a collection. You could put up that watch in any collection (from Patek to G Shock) and it never looks out of place... In fact, you might argue that it shines even when it is punching above its weight. (Sadly mine has been long gone for 5 years now... perhaps I should get back up on that horse)
