Ron, how COOL is that!? I am a big fan of "Gunny" Matter of fact, I'm watching "Mail Call" on the Military channel right now! I'm a former Military Helicopter Pilot myself Ron, although I flew in the SUPERIOR Helicopter Pilot's branch, the US Navy.. (Ok, here we go, Army vs. Navy Helicopter Pilot rivalry ) But right now, I am SO jealous of your day with Gunny. Thanks Very much for sharing!!!!

Ron,

First and foremost, thank you for your service!

Second, thank you for the great pics and an amazing thread. If anyone has not seen Lee Ermey in Full Metal Jacket, you need to watch it immediately. Be sure and put the little ones to bed first though.

Thanks guys for all your comments. It's made my day if some of you enjoyed the read.

As for the digital pattern, the Army Aviation Combat Uniform or A2CUs as we call it, came out around '05-'06.

JJ, there's always room for you in Hollywood .

Thanks again.

LUCKY!!!

He's the real "McCoy!" He fought in Vietnam then served as a drill instructor. I've always had a soft spot in my heart of USMC DIs, being a Navy OCS grad myself.

Man. You got to meet R. Lee! Awesome!

He looks like he is ready for another combat tour and could hack it easily!

Too cool!
