HAVANA on RG for me, the case color combo works great with the dial

DayDate - Iconic and timeless. I just don't like the Journe design and hype behind it.

Black alligator. I usually wear it with a brown ostrich strap these days.

Both would be good to have. In my case (having platinum Day-Date), I would some day like to acquire a Journe. The CS in particular in platinum with blued hands. Beautiful!

Stupid question perhaps but is the CS even still available at the boutiques? It seems they won’t sell anyone anything these days.

When I recently visited in Miami, they had pieces to show but nothing to sell. Some were dummies, some were from a private collection. I did not enquire about the waitlist process as I'm not currently shopping for another piece.

By the way, love your other post regarding your gold dial. You definitely landed a keeper

I’m an existing customer and asked for a platinum havana q4 2021 and was told ~2 years.

So yes and no. I’m sure it varies by market and who you know.

If you’re a Journe guy and a watch guy and patient you can get stuff it just takes time.

Thanks. I was at a former FPJ AD and saw the same CS RG but with a navy alligator strap, the same one that comes with the Chronometre bleu. It looks awesome and brings out the blue hands. Wondering if anyone here has tried this.

I'm in the mood for a new strap, I was considering grey or green, but now I need to consider navy as well. It would look great with the blued steel hands for sure.

The AD I was at is Govberg the owner of TheWatchBox and they have seen a lot of FPJ. The SA was also remarking how cool the strap combo is with the CS RG. If you go this route, appreciate if you can share some photos here.

That’s actually more promising than I had feared. I still have a shy hope that they’ll sell me a Lune at some point, so by that metric, it’s maybe not a complete illusion.

You can't go wrong with either, but the Havana color is more unique and goes so well with the RG.
That's the one I chose.

fairly even in my mind. If I could ask, which the CS version would fill a gap in how & when you use the watches from your collection. I do not have either one but hope to soon acquire a silver dial RG CS as I do not have a dress gold watch in my collection (currently SS, ceramic case watches).

Personally, I observe that the DD is a watch that someone with discipline as a 1-3 watch collector loves and gets great enjoyment out of. But the collectors that are at 7-15 watches, I think on average (huge generalization) will then prefer the FPJ in the longer term.

In this case, I fall into the latter camp and prefer the FPJ for the variety, the dress check box, etc.

However, I will also say that when I had the change to choose between FPJ or ROC gold, I went full bling and chose to add another sport watch.

Much prefer the DD design and practicality (although flashy) but can't discard how horologically beautiful FPJ pieces are.

I have green and blue on my RG with gold raised dial, so it's a bit more neutral. I think the blue and grey would look great on yours with blued hands.

CS is such a great FPJ to get. The watch he gave to George Daniela after all.

That’s a 38mm one right? I wish they brought back that option since I have small wrists. I do know FPJ did intentionally make the first CS to be 40mm and deemed to have the perfect proportions for what he envisioned.

How are you getting FPJ in Toronto? I talked to Banderia they said no FPJ coming to Canada in 2022. I'm planning on reaching out to US Boutiques

I'm sorry but how is this a comparison? Put a FPJ CS on your wrist and you would forget what any rolex is.

Advice needed: FP Journe Chronometre Souverain or a Rolex Day date 40?

Wow really? The NA CEO just told us on a group zoom that he would keep the Toronto retail outlet viable as that was one market they didn’t intend to open a boutique in due to Canadas challenging import laws (paraphrasing). Seems odd they would completely shaft them.

I specifically contacted Bandiera in November (with references that have delt with them) about setting up a meeting to discuss getting into the brand. They told me FP Journe would only be distributing to boutiques in USA for 2022 and they would reach out in January to touch base. I contacted them in January to follow up and was told that FP Journe was closed and to work with other independents instead. When I tried to confirm if that meant no pieces were coming here I was just told the strategy was to purchase one of they happened to come in stock. Either Bandiera is leveraging brand demand to boost sales of jewelry or access only to VVIP clients or they truly arent getting any pieces, either way there did not seem like there was any possibility of getting into the brand in Canada.

if you need a dress watch in your collection, get the FP Journe.........otherwise, choose the Day-Date if you want a gold classic watch

Bummer. Toronto is such a strange market. The way it’s handled by brands anyways. It must truly be less profitable for them so they mail it in the way AP seemingly did.
