Which is harder to get from AD? Platona or JM Daytona

Platona. My AD (smaller) had a JM the past two years. He won't see a Platona.

Platinum seems much harder to come by.

Seems to depend on the AD. Both pretty much like unicorns to my AD.

Platona baguette definitely the most difficult and in my biased opinion, the more desirable of the two.

I believe the JM is the harder to get for one simple reason. There are two Platinum Daytona models, and just the one 116508 green dial reference. My AD gets one of each model a year, which makes them all rare. But that’s 2 Platonas a year to just 1 JM Daytona.

Depends on AD. Mine for example got two platinum Daytona last year and only one YG green Daytona. But of course more YG total than Platinum.

Sorry, this was 2-3years ago.
Today the platinum Daytona is much more rare, and they deliver less… because t I think they want the platinum pieces only for their best customers to keep the Pt pieces higher than it was in the past. |

I was speaking from my experience versus the worldwide situation. I have been offered the platinum Daytona a few times over the last couple of years but I had to seek out the JM version because most of them are being held in collections and not being worn. The platinum Daytona, as I was told, was a watch that is often worn "in the wild" with less of them being held in collections.

Despite a longer production run (to date), Platona is probably more rare. If a green dial 116508 is more difficult to source from AD, it is likely due to celebrity hype.
The Platona is a more expensive watch at retail (by a fair amount), which contributed to slow sales at first. Platonas often sat in AD display cases for months, which may cause some to believe they are produced in significant quantity; they are not. The recent increase in Platona demand is largely based upon its own merits (as opposed to celebrity influence). Platinum is the rarer and superior material, having better metallurgical properties than gold. |

Which is harder to get from AD? Platona or JM Daytona
Don't make me post another pic of this beauty. OP, my AD calls JM a unicorn. Back when platona and DD plat were in the windows... I think it might be harder now but who really knows.

My very large AD, 1-2 greens per year, 6 platinums per year. I was surprised too. The owner is a friend, has given me both, and has no reason not to tell the truth.
I was actually a little shocked but it makes sense. There are many dial options to the 116508…. The total YG 116508’s is well above the delivery of platona’s, but when you break it down to the green dial it gets quite diluted. |

Is it just me but I don't believe we'll ever really know Rolex's distribution fraction as they cover a lot of area and can do whatever they want; all the information here is strictly anecdotal?

Well I got one of these but still waiting on the Platinum Daytona with diamond dial so I say the latter one is harder to get (limited to my experience of course)
