Other than parking it in a safe. So I became careful, but not paranoid with it. I do recall giving it a light scratch when on a train in Switzerland and putting my backpack back on. It didn't make me happy, but it happened. So I don't think of that "scar" with fondness, but it's the only blemish that I recall when it happened.

My other watch is a mid-80s DJ with the acrylic crystal. It was thicker and I used to bang that up inadvertently. The Daytona is much easier to avoid that contact, plus perhaps I am older and more careful now.

I would need a LOT more money to have such an expensive watch and not wear and enjoy it!

Pics from this morning after wearing every day for 5 years:
Looks great with the minimal wear it appears to have received. I think Pt is a bit more susceptible to hairline scratching as well.

I don't necessarily agree with this statement. I wear/rotate my watches on the daily. I don't pamper my watches, I wear according to what I'm doing for the day. Yes, I have some hairline scratches that you have to stare at to notice, but i don't have any deep scratches or dents. The closes I have to being a beat up watch is my BLNR. It was my first luxury watch and I wore it everyday for 6 months. Even then, it doesn't have any huge scratches or dents, just minor hairline scratches across the clasp.

I’ve got an every day runner and I’m saving for something special which would be kept in the safe. Bit of both for me.

If I scratch my watch doing Blokey stuff I don’t sweat it because I’m a mans man.

If you don't have scratches...you're not wearing it right. Am I correct?

Keep your watch hand closer to your body. As zen mentioned, keeping your arm behind your back when walking/running towards obstacles like door jambs, boulders, and spiked walls helps.

Don/doff watches on carpeted surface or over a chest high surface to minimize impact damage of the watch falls.

Take off watch and place in pocket if you know you’re going to be working in an engine bay, crawling through mud, sticking your watch hand into deep dark bug infested crevices to reach a secret lever.

For every scratch, there’s an itch for a new watch
