A modern sub with fresh gaskets and pressure testing shouldn't have any problem. Make sure to rinse it off after.

This is a shame, as effectively discounts any leather strapped watches. Every collection should have a leather strapped watch IMO.

I dive, spear fish, swim etc with my deep-sea. It's my daily watch, only comes off when I'm wrenching or sleeping. Did the same with the my sub.

Why own something that wouldn’t get worn? I can’t do, and just plain don’t care for, watches on leather.

For anything dressy, on the rare occasion, I’ll wear BLNR-ish with no apologies. If anyone finds offense to that or my style, they can go take a flying leap


But OP, take it swimming. It deserves it. Water isn’t going to hurt it one bit.

I wear my Daytona to the beach and snorkeled with it…also no problem with my sub in fresh or saltwater.

I actually always have a watch on when I’m in the water

I’d presume 99% of people do not dive with their 10k plus luxury jewelry. However…

If OP asking if a dive watch can be used for diving, I’m curious if they are aware that a car can be used for driving, jacket in the winter, etc.

OP, what are you afraid of? Losing your Submariner in the ocean?

I have been using a 60m rated IWC for swimming and snorkeling for 20 years no problem. I am also using my 120m rated 5711 for swimming when I want to jump into the lake. Taking a waterproof watch for a swim is certainly less risky than having it sit on the beach.
