SS Daytona in 2nd Place

I have had a SS Daytona for 6 years. About 3 years ago I purchased an IWC Portuguese Chrono Automatic as I liked the watch. Never thought that I would now like it more than the Daytona. I just like the feel, the size and weight, the design, the bronze hands and indice against an off white dial, the contrasting blue chrono hands and the quality is definately above the Daytona. I like especially that I can feel the rotor spinning round when I wear it.
Anyone has the same thought on any other Chrono that is better than the Daytona?

I wear my Tag Aquaracer Chrono Automatic waaaay more than my Daytona. But this is because my tag is my beater work watch.

Being that we're on a Rolex forum, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Daytona lovers will prevail on this issue.

IWC's are great for an ETA movement.
Sinn does a good job too.

I had a couple Chronos before my Daytona... which was (is) my grail... Tag, Breitling, nothing as nice an IWC though... anyway, I have to be bias here and say I love my Daytona the best... BUT, it's your watch, and a beauty at that! If that's the one that sings to you, then by all means wear it the most!

No chrono is or can ever be better than Daytona. You can't beat a classic - no matter how hard you try. And I think Daytona has passed a good enough test of time to qualify to be called a classic.

I too love the Daytona, but I wear a Omega Speedmaster Pro more because of the pushers. I am more likely to wear the Daytona when I don't need a Chronograph.

No opinion on the choice at hand, and I would think the tide would turn to Rolex . . .

However, it is surprising and interesting to me that ALL responses have not been for the Daytona given this site's inherent preference.

Makes me wonder . . .

sometimes its just a different feel....some people have bought a daytona here because of the hype...then when they realized it was really nothing to it they sell it right away...its a beautiful watch but sometimes people just dont feel it that much...

I think the white faced omega broad arrow with the blue hands, and the Jorg Schauer model 10 with a white face or the model 9 with a black face are the STUFF, but at the end of the day, my $$ goes to the big "R".

The look and feel certainly is personal taste. I have seen the pictures of the IWC you mentioned and it indeed is a very pretty watch. However, the quality of a Daytona is hard to beat.
Interestingly, I kinda like the sensation of the spinning rotor of my Tudor as well, but the quality of a Daytona is easy to appreiate.
