Yes. 98 Lexus LS. Doesn’t take much to be worth more than that but it’s comfortable, high quality and insanely reliable.

I have a few cars. Some more and some less.

My daily runabout is like a $4k Toyota Yaris. LOL

Cars a depreciating liability. Certain Rolex models if bought at MSRP, can be considered as an asset class.

When I bought my car a year 18 months back, it may have been slightly more expensive than my Daytona. Don’t think it is the case anymore.

Strange if you think about it

Here’s a picture of my $30k BLRO in my $18k VW Touareg. I was lucky enough to only pay $9,700 for the watch though.

Yep, sporting an SD 43 in a 2009 Audi A6 estate (estimated value $15k for the car and $17k for the watch), but strange how the value for both continues to inch up.

Depends on the car. If you bought a Toyota Rav4 Prime 18mos ago, unless you ran it to the ground, it's likely above new msrp price now. Crazy weird times we living in.

Pretty much.
Have a decent nice truck 2011.
To save gas, I drive an old beater back and forth to work.

Never have to worry about dings.
A car is a car

A watch….. That’s a different story.

Definitely depends on the car. Mine is now worth $20-30k more than I paid for it after almost 1 year of use. It's insane.

I don't own a car, so yes :)

The last car I owned was a 1998 Suzuki Kei in Japan. I paid 50,000 yen for that (about 400 usd), so yes my current watch is worth about..20-25x more than that? Do I win?

Nope. None of my watches are worth my than my vehicle.
Interestingly enough, my vehicle is worth more now than when I bought it new.

I don’t have a car. My subway card is $127/month, so my Rolex is much more expensive.

Unusually, both have been going up in value recently.
Whereas, cars are usually money pits and Rolex not.

Likely car prices are going to continue to rise dramatically this year (especially electric cars) as commodity prices soar.

Used values will stay strong.

I bought a Taycan last August and if I sold it back to Porsche now I could buy another Rolex out of the profit.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't have a car then and I need one!

My car is a 2013 Lexus ES 350 with fewer than 25,000 miles. When I bought it, it had 10 miles on the odometer. It’s worth more than my 2021 Rolex Lady Datejust Everose Rolesor, fluted bezel, Jubilee bracelet, Sundust stick dial.
