Gabo has landed

Well boys, got my much anticipated Gabomagic strap and I have to say I really, really dig this one. The colour is fabulous and Gabo says the leather will 'tan' with age, much the way louis vuitton leather does.

Also note... given the 'retro' look of the strap, I've gone with a pre-V style buckle. I'm invested in it, so I'm giving it a real try.

Thanks John. This is a stunning strap, IMHO, but brand new they are US$170 shipped.

Yep, rain... for the past two days. Feels like I've been living in Vancouver for about a month now. LOL

Been a wet October so far here in Toronto. Heck, there was even a bunch of thunderstorms that rolled in early this morning. Woke my lil one up at 6:30am.

OMG, John. That strap makes that watch look almost normal sized.

I like it Johnny but I am more a fan of black. Never been much into brown. Even with my clothes. I like your darker colored straps much better.

Paul, I thought the same thing when I started out. Now I'm not running out to buy all brown-based straps, but the tan is VERY historic and looks amazing on.

I find when you wear a Panny with a black strap, the case really gets punched in terms of looks. But when you put a tan strap on it, the black dial really punches.

But the best thing is... when I get tired of tan, I can put on black, blue, brown.... Options are a good thing. ;~)

Vintage baby!! On any historic model, the tan/brown is the way to fly mate. Looks great and will get better with age!!

Thanks Daren. I'm totally digging this strap. I find as I wear the watch, my tastes have totally changed. I wanted more gator straps and only wanted dark colours like black and blue.

Now I rarely wear the gators and basically keep it to my MP6 (black calf) and the OEM tan. However the Gabo will definetly split duties with the MP6. The OEM 'gold' looks positively brown compared to the Gabo. Maybe I won't dunk the OEM in gasoline, afterall. LOLOL

Hmmm, never thought of the dial sticking out more with the brown. Good point.

And yes, options are a wonderful thing

Awesome strap!

I own a few and they are definately worth 170. They are entirely hand made. The stitching is perfectly straight and even! No machine strap could ever compete with a Gabo! IMO!

Nice strap John. Looks built to last!

I'm getting a couple of straps made by Greg, hopefully later this month. I'll post pics when they arrive.

Yeah!!! Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! See how awesome your watch looks with a distressed tan strap?

Great buy, great look.....'nuff said!
